According to the Ministry of Energy, on November 7, 2026, 248 million kWh of electricity was produced in Uzbekistan. This figure was 11.9 million kWh, or 4.6%, lower than the same day last year.
The main reason for this decline was the decrease in electricity consumption, which occurred against the backdrop of warmer weather. Thermal power plants accounted for the largest share of generation sources, producing 190.5 million kWh. This is 11.1% less than the 214.4 million kWh produced on November 7, 2025.
At the same time, hydropower showed an increase of 20.4%, reaching 17.7 million kWh compared to 14.7 million kWh the previous year. Solar power plants generated 16.9 million kWh, which is 9% more than 15.5 million kWh during the same period last year.
Wind energy showed the most significant relative increase: its output grew by 62.5%, amounting to 19.5 million kWh compared to 12 million kWh the previous year. Block stations produced 3.1 million kWh, which is 3.1% less than 3.2 million kWh a year ago. Output from small solar panels reached 0.3 million kWh, up from 0.2 million kWh in 2025, an increase of 50%.
The Ministry of Energy explained that the overall decrease in generation is directly related to the reduction in electricity consumption. In 2025, lower temperatures stimulated the demand for electricity for building heating. However, the warmer weather this year contributed to lower consumption. According to the ministry, on November 7, 2026, electricity consumption was 9.8% lower than on the corresponding day the previous year.
