Sonya Gandhi states that the publication of her autobiography will cause a big resonance

Congress leader Sonya Gandhi is gradually revealing details of her biography through a book titled 'Belongings: Journey of Love'. On Tuesday, Sonya Gandhi shared on X her opinion that the appearance of this book will inevitably lead to a big stir.

She stated: 'When this book comes out, the show will be inevitable. After all, for decades others have told my 'story'; now it's my turn.'

The announced book 'Belonging: A Journey of Love' by Sonya Gandhi, chairwoman of the Congress party group, is scheduled for publication on November 10, 2026.

This 544-page work will include events such as her childhood in Italy, her first meeting with Rajiv Gandhi in Cambridge in 1965, marriage, the assassinations of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, as well as her entry into politics and her decision not to accept the post of Prime Minister in 2004. The Indian edition of the book will be published by HarperCollins.

Sonya herself provides information about the book's content. By posting a video and writing a few lines on X to commemorate the book's promotion after a long break, she repeated: 'When this book comes out, the show will be inevitable. After all, for decades others have told my 'story'. Now it's my turn.'

In the video, Sonya asks: 'I don't know if I should tell my whole story...'. Then, mentioning Rajiv Gandhi, she says: 'When they asked my husband to become Prime Minister, which I was completely against...'.

Sonya noted that since many things have been written about her, many of which were inaccurate, some were hidden, and some exaggerated, she realized that she should write her own story and present the circumstances as they actually were. She added: 'Or, let's say... I won't give my version, but I will definitely tell my story.'

The Congress leader continued that some people might change their minds about her, while others' opinions might worsen, but that is the truth, and when you write a book, such things happen; some noise is inevitable.

Earlier, on October 24, Sonya appeared on X, recalling her early days with Rajiv Gandhi as part of the book's promotion.
