The administration of the Fergana Region announced the opening of the Fergana-China Trade and Investment Center in the Chinese city of Qingdao. The center's activities will be aimed at promoting products from the Fergana region in the Chinese market, establishing business ties, and facilitating joint investment projects.
The center is located in the demonstration zone of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Center. Its opening was part of a delegation's visit from the Fergana region to Shandong Province, China, during which regional representatives held negotiations in Qingdao and Jinan.
Business Meetings in Qingdao
As part of a business forum in Qingdao, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of companies such as Hisense Group, Tronvex Machinery, Shandong Luqiao Group, Modu House, and a manufacturer of reinforced concrete products. The parties studied opportunities for joint projects in telecommunications and mobile communications, production of high-precision CNC machines, reinforced concrete structures for irrigation and road construction, as well as modular buildings.
Negotiations in Jinan
In Jinan, the delegation held more extensive negotiations with representatives of the Provincial and Municipal Committees of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). These meetings included presentations on the export and investment potential of the Fergana region and promising local projects. Entrepreneurs also discussed trade and economic cooperation with companies such as Shandong Linxuan Import-Export, Shandong Hu Xin, Jinan Aoli, and others.
Following discussions, the Fergana Region administration signed memoranda of cooperation with the Jinan Committee for the Promotion of International Trade and Qingdao SPB GALAXY CULTURE. The Bagdad district administration signed an agreement with LINK-WORLD IMP & EXP. The parties agreed to organize a trip for entrepreneurs from Jinan to the Fergana region to present the region's investment opportunities, as well as to establish a working group to coordinate cooperation. The Fergana region also plans to send its delegation to business forums in Shandong Province.
Agriculture and Technology
Another part of the negotiations was dedicated to agriculture. In Jinan, the delegation visited the Shandong Oakes dairy complex, where it studied milk production and processing processes using German technologies. The 180-hectare facility houses over 6,000 dairy cows, each producing 45–50 liters of milk daily. The company produces yogurt, kefir, and other dairy products.
The possibility of creating modern livestock complexes in the Fergana region and in the Bozatau Karakalpakstan region was discussed. The company founders expressed readiness to visit Uzbekistan. The parties also agreed to maintain regular contact and form a working group to implement projects.
The Governor of the Fergana Region, Wang Tao, also discussed issues of animal disease prevention and treatment, the introduction of modern technologies, and the potential for producing veterinary drugs in the region with the chairman of Jinan Yimin Animal Pharmaceutical. Furthermore, the delegation inspected Jinan Xinsan Plastic Industry, which produces biodegradable mulch and films for greenhouses. The company, founded in 2003, occupies an area of 12.87 hectares and has an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons. Participants discussed the prospects of using this product on farms and in greenhouses in the Fergana region, as well as its impact on soil fertility and the environment.
Chinese investors were also provided with information about the opportunities offered by the region's free economic zones and small industrial zones, as well as the activities of the support center for Chinese investors established at the initiative of the regional governor.
