The Punjab state government, led by Bhagwant Mann, announced significant support for public servants on the occasion of the Diwali festival. It was decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 40% for 6507 computer teachers (PICTES).
As a result of this decision, the Dearness Allowance for these employees will rise from 181% to 221%, providing a direct financial benefit to thousands of workers. This initiative by the Punjab government is viewed by employees as substantial assistance ahead of the Diwali festival.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that his government is focused on the well-being and ensuring a secure future for its employees.
In addition to computer teachers, the Punjab government made an important decision in favor of 1007 non-teaching staff working under the Samagra Shiksha program. These workers will also receive financial benefits due to the government's decision to grant them salary-related allowances. It should be noted that the services of these employees were recently converted to permanent status.
This government announcement is expected to benefit a total of 7514 employees associated with the education sector, including 6507 computer teachers and 1007 non-teaching staff.
Bhagwant Mann called this decision a step in the interest of the employees. He also congratulated all workers and residents of the state on Diwali. The government emphasizes that protecting employee interests and securing their future is one of its priorities.
