A change in atmospheric air conditions is forecasted for Tashkent during the weekend, caused by the phenomenon of temperature inversion. On the night of November 6 to 7, international AQI levels may reach 'unhealthy for sensitive groups,' and the national index may enter the 'yellow' zone.
According to data from the Special Commission, the combination of nighttime temperature drop, light wind, and temperature inversion can restrict air exchange in the lower layers of the atmosphere. This slows down the dispersion of emissions and PM particles coming from both local and neighboring regions. Nevertheless, partial movement of western air masses may contribute to atmospheric cleansing.
On the morning of November 7, air quality is expected to improve to a 'moderate' level on the AQI scale. However, by evening, under the influence of light wind and unfavorable meteorological conditions, the concentration of fine particulate matter (PM) may increase, potentially leading to a deterioration to the 'unhealthy for health' mark.
Throughout November 8, the air in the capital will predominantly be at 'moderate' and 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' levels. On the morning of November 9, a return to 'moderate' readings is expected. According to the national index, the atmospheric condition during these days will mainly correspond to the 'yellow' level, with a possibility of a brief transition to 'orange.' The situation should improve during the day due to rising temperatures and changes in vertical air exchange.
Around-the-clock spot checks are currently being conducted to protect air quality in 24/7 mode. As part of recent inspections, specialists checked 95 facilities in Tashkent and the Tashkent region. It is worth noting that today the air quality in the capital reached a 'green' level, and overall atmospheric purity indicators for October have improved compared to last year.
