Activist from Nisha Bhagat tribe commits suicide after accusations against the system and landowners

The activist from the Nisha Bhagat tribe committed suicide after leveling serious accusations against several individuals and administrative bodies during a live broadcast on Facebook. In her last live stream, she questioned the role of the Hemant government, certain land-related figures, and law enforcement agencies.

She stated that she had constantly fought for her community's rights but received no support from anyone. During the broadcast, Nisha Bhagat also mentioned her family, noting that her parents were forced to hear many unpleasant things. She expressed her feelings regarding her struggle and the problems her family faced.

In the live stream, Nisha Bhagat said that people considered her a strong woman. She claimed that she continuously advocated for the interests of her society. Criticizing the Hemant government, she stated that if exposing the government's shortcomings was wrong, then she had to pay for it.

She also accused some people of humiliating and persecuting women. Nisha stated that she could no longer tolerate such behavior.

In her live stream, Nisha Bhagat also made claims against some individuals involved in land issues and expressed dissatisfaction with the administration. She asserted that she had repeatedly tried to discuss her problems and security concerns with the administration but did not receive the necessary help. She also questioned the role of the administration, mentioning Ajay Tirki.

During the live stream, Nisha Bhagat called the Police Station head in Pitoria, expressing dissatisfaction with the police actions. She accused the police of failing to catch the thief in the case of theft from her home, as well as of not taking action against those who, according to her, were trying to discredit her. During the phone call, she expressed her serious difficulties and then mentioned the fight she waged for her parents and tribal community.

Nisha Bhagat repeatedly mentioned her parents in the live stream, saying that they raised her with great love, and she was sad that her family had to go through so much because of her. She stated that she dedicated her life to fighting for the tribal community. In the broadcast, she also noted that she had not received the expected support from political parties and continued to fight for her community's issues.

The accusations she made on the Facebook live stream following the news of Nisha Bhagat's suicide attracted public attention.

Father from Hyderabad shares experience of living as a parent fully dedicated to family

When Nishant Chaturvedi's corporate position in Hyderabad was eliminated, his life changed unexpectedly. He became the primary caregiver for his six-year-old son while his wife Vibhuti took on a new, very demanding role.

Nishant is originally from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, and Vibhuti is from Ambala, Haryana. They met in Delhi while working as lawyers. Their career paths led them to Hyderabad, where their son Shiven was born in 2019.

Prior to this, Nishant had built a successful career for over ten years in global pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis and Sandoz. However, a global restructuring at the end of 2024 resulted in his position and those of his team becoming redundant.

As Vibhuti began working in a role that required long hours and weekend work, Nishant gradually took on more responsibilities at home. This happened without formal discussion or written task allocation; their life simply adapted.

After the beginning of 2025, Nishant's days revolved around school schedules, homework completion, badminton and swimming lessons. He continued to consult and mentor, adjusting his work to his son's schedule. Initially, Nishant viewed homework as a task to be completed by a deadline, but he soon realized that children learn differently, and sometimes the best parental action is to step back.

This transition raised questions about his professional self-identity. Nevertheless, Nishant realized that losing a corporate title does not erase his abilities; he can continue to develop and contribute in other ways. Managing school schedules, cooking, activities, and emotional check-ins helped Nishant understand the constant mental effort behind household chores. He noted that most of this effort remains unseen and unacknowledged.

When Nishant's role was threatened, Vibhuti initially experienced shock but decided to trust his capabilities. She claims she never doubted they could manage the transition together. Despite her demanding schedule, Vibhuti continues to pack lunchboxes for Shiven, participates in his education, and is present wherever possible. For her, parenting is about maintaining connection, not dividing roles.

The idea of a stay-at-home father still sparks curiosity and sometimes judgment. Vibhuti admits that people may find it difficult when families deviate from traditional roles, but she believes every family should find what suits them. Nishant and Vibhuti do not see themselves as primary and secondary caregivers; they see themselves as partners responding to different life stages, with one leaning towards work and the other taking on more domestic care.

Nishant's active role deepened his respect for homemakers and working mothers. He now sees how household chores are performed throughout the day, often without recognition or mention on a professional resume. Nishant is convinced that domestic labor deserves more recognition. He states that caring for the family is a round-the-clock responsibility, and most of it is done without expecting anything in return. By taking a more active role, he has redefined fatherhood for himself and drawn attention to the value of invisible care.
