Amazon has implemented the automatic offering of the AppleCare service during the purchase of iPhones on its platform in Brazil. This new feature was announced alongside the introduction of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models on the e-commerce site. The new devices were launched in September, arriving in the Brazilian market with starting prices from R$ 11,999.
This new condition applies to any iPhone model sold and delivered by Amazon, ensuring global coverage for a period of 24 months. The support provided includes access to original parts and replacements from Apple, as well as assistance from the company's own specialists, available at Apple Stores and partner stores.
The retailer has become the first e-commerce site to offer AppleCare in collaboration with Assurant. Previously, the service was already available in the country through the carrier Vivo and the bank Itaú. Although it is possible to purchase extended warranty on the Apple website, this option is limited to Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
With this additional protection, buyers have access to official Apple support 24 hours a day, also benefiting from the presence of Apple specialists in official and accredited establishments. Activation occurs automatically using the IMEI, and repairs are carried out by authorized technicians, guaranteeing genuine parts and other benefits.
Despite being available on Amazon, AppleCare still has certain local limitations. Before this change, the service for iPhones depended exclusively on policies contracted with Vivo or Itaú. Currently, features such as specialized support directly through the app and greater ease in scheduling repairs do not require paying a monthly fee, for example.
Gabriela Giannico, director of telephony and services at Amazon Brazil, explained that the goal is 'to offer Brazilian consumers confidence and security at every stage: purchase, delivery, and long-term protection.' The AppleCare offered by Amazon operates in partnership with Assurant, a company also involved in the service provided by Itaú, which has been available since 2022 for customers of the iPhone Forever program.
Additionally, Amazon informed that, besides AppleCare, customers have the option to pay for the iPhone purchase in up to 12 interest-free installments, both on the website and the app.
