Bharti Airtel's net profit grew by 24% to ₹10,710 crore in the second quarter, revenue increased by 16.7%

On Thursday, India's second-largest telecommunications operator, Bharti Airtel, reported its net profit for the second quarter, which was lower than expected. This was due to an increase in network operating expenses, which offset the growth in subscribers and the migration of users to more expensive tariff plans.

The company's consolidated net profit reached ₹8,888 crore (US$940.45 million) for the quarter ending September 30, compared to ₹6,792 crore the previous year.

According to data collected by LSEG, analysts had forecast an average profit of ₹9,673 crore.
