International Startup Competition with $5 Million Prize Fund Launches in Uzbekistan

An international competition named Land of Startups is being prepared for launch in Uzbekistan, featuring a prize fund of $5 million. Participants will be able to compete for venture funding and gain the opportunity to integrate their developments into the republic's economy.

The first selection stage is scheduled for April 2027. The main goal of the competition is to attract foreign startups and their founders to Uzbekistan. Authorities hope that this project will allow the republic to transform into a significant regional hub for startups, promoting the accelerated implementation of innovations and the exchange of new technologies.

Projects will be evaluated across five key areas. These include: artificial intelligence-based solutions for various sectors; digital tools for the social sphere, including education and healthcare; financial technologies covering e-commerce and corporate services; the creative industry and game software products; and high-tech B2B and industrial solutions based on scientific research.

A specialized organizing committee will be formed to ensure the competition takes place. This committee will be responsible for approving participation criteria, ensuring the transparency of the selection and award process for winners. Furthermore, the best projects will receive support in entering international markets and integrating into the social and industrial spheres.

Competition winners will receive venture funding, the amount of which will depend on the results of the presented projects. Concurrently, additional support measures are being implemented in Uzbekistan for young startups, including providing loans, grants, compensation for part of costs, and launching programs for training specialists in information technology.

Uzbekistan introduces new tools for financing youth startups and businesses

Updated financial support mechanisms are being introduced in Uzbekistan for youth startups and various business projects. These changes provide additional access to loans, grants, and the possibility of compensating for part of the costs.

Furthermore, the reform will affect the field of specialist training in information technology. The relevant amendments were officially approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution.

Expansion of Support Mechanisms for Youth Entrepreneurship

This document expands the functionality of the State Target Fund for Youth Entrepreneurship Development, which operates under the Agency for Youth Affairs, as well as the venture fund Yoshlar Ventures. These structures will gain the ability to apply new tools to assist and promote young businesses.

Significant attention is paid to financing education in computer programming and information technology. Support will be provided not only at the stage of training qualified personnel but also during the implementation of their startups and business initiatives.

New Conditions for Financing Initiatives

The resolution also approved a new regulation that clearly defines the procedure for financing entrepreneurial ventures using funds from the youth fund. Specifically, it details the conditions for obtaining loans through commercial banks, arranging grants, and reimbursing part of the expenses related to the implementation of these initiatives. Special support programs, such as "Combinator," are also planned.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan has a plan to annually train one million young citizens in areas such as robotics, computer game development, and startup creation and launch. To achieve this goal, educational programs for schoolchildren will be modernized, new courses launched, and curricula updated in higher education institutions.

Uzbekistan to launch international startup competition with $5 million prize fund

Uzbekistan plans to hold an international startup competition called 'Land of Startups' in April 2027. The total prize fund for the competition will be five million US dollars. Decision No. 593 of the Cabinet of Ministers was approved on October 28, 2026.

This competition will be held annually and is designed to attract foreign startup projects and founders to Uzbekistan, thereby accelerating technology transfer and transforming the country into a regional startup hub.

The adoption of this decision was made to implement Presidential Decree No. PP-59 dated February 11, 2026, which concerns 'Measures for creating a comprehensive ecosystem for supporting startups.'

The competition will cover five areas: artificial intelligence technologies; digital solutions for social sectors, including healthcare, education, and public services; financial technologies; creative industries; development of computer and mobile games; and business and industrial solutions.

Each of the 25 winning teams can receive up to $200,000 in investment from the venture fund at the IT Park Directorate. The allocation of funding will take place after the completion of the due diligence process.

Furthermore, this decision introduces changes to the operating rules of the IT Park. Specifically, the requirement for IT Park residents to integrate their automated accounting and measurement systems with the tax authorities' information systems has been abolished.

The IT Park Directorate is also exempted from the obligation to submit tax and statistical reports, as well as information on conducted information technology courses. The list of permitted activities for IT Park residents has been expanded and now includes the production and sale of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence devices, micro- and nanoelectronics, intelligent robots, as well as running angel investment clubs.

Traders Fair Uzbekistan 2026 will take place on November 14, 2026, in Tashkent

The countdown has officially begun ahead of the highly anticipated debut of Traders Fair Uzbekistan 2026. This global series of events will host its flagship financial conference in Central Asia, gathering local trading enthusiasts, institutional investors, and leading global financial experts. The event is scheduled for November 14, 2026, and will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent.

Traders Fair Tashkent 2026 will provide participants with the opportunity to attend interactive educational sessions, network with executives, and receive expert market analysis. Guests will gain direct access to industry leaders and top brokerage firms, who will share insights on Forex, stock, cryptocurrency, and commodity markets.

The one-day summit will focus on practical risk management, market psychology, and strategic asset allocation. Key panel topics include studying the psychology of leverage usage and risk management.

Trading with high leverage increases both market exposure and psychological pressure, often leading to cognitive traps such as loss aversion, revenge trading, and excessive leverage use. This session offers a deep practical dive into behavioral finance, analyzing mental biases that can cause catastrophic drawdowns during periods of high volatility. Institutional market strategists will share actionable schemes for emotional discipline, position stress-testing, and strict risk-to-reward ratios necessary to protect capital amid market stress.

Another important topic is comparing trading, investing, and gambling. The line between thoughtful market participation and reckless speculation is often blurred in retail trading. Panelists will examine the fundamental differences in methodology, timeframes, and risk management that distinguish structured trading and long-term investing from financial gambling. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how to transition from impulsive, emotion-based bets to systematic, edge-based strategies designed for reproducible long-term growth.

The reality of 'signals' and 'trade copying' will also be discussed. Although social trading platforms and automated signal services promise easy profits, the operational reality is often much more complex. This panel will uncover the mechanisms of copy-trading ecosystems to assess execution latency, hidden slippage, mismatched risk settings, and misleading performance metrics. Market leaders will explain how retail traders can conduct due diligence on signal providers, evaluate true risk profiles, and safely integrate automated tools without relinquishing personal control.

The Traders Fair Uzbekistan 2026 event will take place on November 14, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hotel Tashkent in Uzbekistan. At the end of this full day, participants will possess valuable market knowledge, institutional-level strategies, and practical tools to enhance their trading efficiency. In addition to the practical knowledge gained in expert sessions, participants will expand their network among peers and industry leaders, enabling them to navigate modern dynamic markets with greater confidence and discipline. Registration is available at tradersfair.com/uzbekistan2026.
