MXF Motors has started selling the Ark 8, its first fully electric model. This trail motorcycle is intended for recreational off-road use and is available in two distinct versions at dealerships.
One configuration features 17-inch front wheels and 14-inch rear wheels, priced at R$ 24,490. The second version has 19-inch front wheels and 16-inch rear wheels, costing R$ 24,990.
MXF, a company founded in 2009 and based in Curitiba, is traditionally known for its combustion-powered trail motorcycles and acts as a partner of the Chinese company Loncin in the distribution of all-terrain vehicles. The manufacturer states that the goal of this new model is to allow users to explore nature with less noise and without emitting pollutants.
Technically, the Ark 8 uses a 4 horsepower brushless electric motor, powered by a 72V system and capable of reaching peaks of 11 hp. Since it is electric, the bike does not require gear changes, as the motor is positioned in the center of the chassis and transmits power to the rear wheel via a chain.
There are three riding modes available: Eco mode limits the maximum speed to 45 km/h; Standard mode allows up to 65 km/h; and Race mode reaches 85 km/h.
The vehicle's range is guaranteed by a 72V and 35Ah ternary lithium-ion battery, which promises to travel up to 65 km. This range figure was calculated considering a rider weighing 60 kg traveling at an average speed of 45 km/h, a condition that optimizes this number.
In terms of mechanical components, the Ark 8 features inverted hydraulic front suspension, a monoshock in the rear, and hydraulic disc brakes applied to both wheels. The motorcycle's weight ranges between 77 kg and 78.6 kg, depending on the chosen configuration, and supports a load capacity of 90 kg.
Dimensions also vary according to the version: the length can range from 1.77 m to 1.84 m; the seat height is between 80 cm and 84.5 cm; and the ground clearance varies from 29 cm to 33.5 cm.
This launch occurs amid the growth of electric motorcycles in the country. According to MXF, sales in this segment more than doubled in 2025, totaling approximately 14.8 thousand units, although this volume still represents less than 1% of total motorcycle registrations.
