Uzbekistan Architects Study Modern Construction Technologies in China

A delegation of young architects from the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan is participating in a professional training program in China. As part of this program, participants are studying advanced approaches to urban planning, modern construction materials, and technologies.

The first site visited was the metal products production facility of Sichuan Wangang. The Uzbek representatives familiarized themselves with modular formwork systems made of metal sheets, including their various types, technical capabilities, and advantages in construction.

The use of such systems allows for reducing construction time and costs, improving the quality of structures, and meeting seismic safety requirements. The ability to assemble entire structures from interconnected small elements simplifies the erection of buildings with complex designs and high-rise structures, while the reusable nature of the formwork improves the economic efficiency of construction.

During the visit, the young architects exchanged views with Chinese specialists and manufacturers regarding the potential application of these technologies in Uzbekistan, particularly in the construction of multi-story residential buildings, social infrastructure facilities, and high-rise buildings.

At the testing site, the delegation observed demonstrations of formwork installation, concrete pouring, dismantling of structures after the concrete hardened, and electric welding operations.

Grand Opening of the Training Program

A ceremony marking the opening of the training program for the Uzbek delegation also took place in China at the Sichuan University of Architectural Technology. The event was attended by university leadership and faculty, as well as private sector representatives.

Participants emphasized the importance of international knowledge exchange and acquiring modern competencies and technologies for the development of the construction industry. They noted that the success of reforms largely depends on having qualified specialists with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills.

The program includes both theoretical classes and practical study of advanced solutions. The main areas of focus include digitalization of urban planning, increasing energy efficiency, energy conservation, protection of green zones, and strengthening the ecological sustainability of the urban environment.

The delegation is led by Umida Boizokova, an advisor to the minister. She thanked the Chinese side for organizing the training and creating suitable conditions for the participants, urging the young specialists to make the most of this opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the museum of the Sichuan University of Architectural Technology, which was opened to commemorate the institution's 70th anniversary. Participants learned about the history of the university, its stages of development, and its achievements in education and science. They also toured educational and practical laboratories, examined modern equipment, and learned about the opportunities provided to students for the practical application of acquired knowledge.

This training program is expected to broaden the professional horizons of young architects, introduce them to international experience, and present technologies that can be implemented in the construction and urban planning sectors of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek Researcher Studies Plant Polyphenols in Poland

A specialist from the Research Institute of Quarantine and Plant Protection of Uzbekistan is undergoing advanced training in Poland as part of the international scientific project Phenocycle.

This training is conducted at the Laboratory of Polyphenol Analysis of the Polish Institute of Horticulture. The cooperation between the Uzbek research institution and the European organization CREA ensures the implementation of the program.

The training program is aimed at mastering modern methods for analyzing polyphenolic compounds, conducting laboratory research, and applying advanced analytical technologies. Special attention is paid to the use of modern laboratory equipment, as well as the development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Polyphenolic compounds are of significant importance for plant physiological processes and their ability to adapt to adverse environmental conditions. Studying these compounds allows scientists to investigate the reaction of plants to environmental stress factors such as drought, soil salinization, and temperature fluctuations.

Modern laboratory analysis methods allow for more accurate determination of the composition and concentration of polyphenolic compounds. The acquired knowledge and skills can contribute to further research in the field of plant physiology and mechanisms of plant resistance to environmental impact.

Uzbekistan and Belarus Discuss Workforce Training for Nuclear Energy

A delegation from Uzbekistan's agency Uzatom held working meetings with representatives of educational institutions and industry in Belarus in Minsk. The purpose of the meetings was to discuss workforce training and potential cooperation within the framework of the nuclear power plant construction project in Uzbekistan.

The main focus of discussions with Alexander Novikov, director of the Minsk State Energy College, was on training mid-level technical specialists required for the operation and construction of energy facilities.

Opportunities for partnership through the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute were discussed, including the potential creation of a training center for electricians, welders, and other technical specialists in demand by the energy sector.

The Minsk State Energy College has been training specialists for the Belarusian energy industry for over fifty years, having graduated more than 20,000 students. Since 2009, the college has also trained personnel working at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, participating in its construction.

College representatives noted that cooperation with energy companies allows for the combination of classroom learning with practical training while improving graduates' employment prospects.

Novikov emphasized the readiness of the Belarusian side to share its experience in human resource development. He stated that creating a qualified workforce in the field of nuclear energy requires a systemic approach to education, close interaction with industry, and the development of practical skills.

During the visit, the Uzatom delegation also met with Nadezhda Lazarevich, chairwoman of the Belprom concern, and company management to discuss possible industrial cooperation related to the Uzbekistan NPP project.

The parties studied potential areas of joint work aimed at strengthening the technological resilience of the future facility and developing industrial partnerships. Belprom enterprises export products to more than 60 countries and have experience in international cooperation.

Lazarevich reported that Belarus is closely monitoring the development of Uzbekistan's nuclear industry and sees opportunities for long-term cooperation as the country's industrial potential grows. She also expressed the concern's readiness to participate in joint initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meetings, both sides confirmed their interest in expanding practical cooperation, especially regarding specialist training and industrial partnership related to the construction of the Uzbekistan nuclear power plant.
