The President of Argentina and Pope Leo XIV will jointly release a message to the people of Argentina, which will be broadcast on all television and radio channels on the first day of the papal visit to the country, scheduled for November 8 to 11, according to the Presidency.
Javier Milei and Leo XIV will deliver a joint address on the national network at 7:00 PM local time (10:00 PM GMT) on Sunday, the 8th. This will be the final item on the program for the first day of the Pope's visit, which begins in the afternoon when the Pope's plane arrives in Buenos Aires from Uruguay.
After arriving, Pope Leo XIV will visit the head of state of Argentina at Casa Rosada—the government headquarters—and also participate in a meeting with representatives of provincial authorities, ministers of the National Cabinet, members of Congress, and public figures at Palacio Libertad.
Javier Milei will meet the Holy Patriarch at the airport upon arrival and bid farewell to Leo XIV on the day of departure, next to the plane. The Presidency confirmed today that the President will not only meet the Pope at Jorge Newbery Airport on the 8th but will also say goodbye to Leo XIV on the 11th at Pistarini de Ezeiza Airport.
On Tuesday, the 9th, the Pope will visit the Don Orione House, an institution for people with disabilities, and hold the first of three mass services in Palermo parks in Buenos Aires city.
In the afternoon, the Holy Father will meet with trade union and business representatives at the Catholic University of Argentina, as well as with leaders of Christian communities and religious traditions at Palacio San Martín. He will celebrate Vespers with the Argentine episcopate and synodal teams at the Metropolitan Cathedral, concluding the day with a private dinner with bishops in the Archdiocese.
On Wednesday, the 10th, the Pope will travel to the city of Córdoba, located 700 kilometers from Buenos Aires, where he will celebrate a mass for hundreds of thousands of people, and then meet with Catholic clergy at the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora da Assunção.
Upon returning to the Argentine capital, the head of the Catholic Church will take a ride in papal transport through the streets and conclude the day's program with a vigil with young people.
On Thursday, the 11th, Leo XIV will visit a prison complex, and later celebrate his third and final mass in Luque, Buenos Aires province, before leaving Argentina for Peru.
