The Volkswagen Jetta GLI, sold in Brazil in a unique configuration, is approaching its Japanese competitors. Its official price is R$ 258,490, however, listings found at dealerships on the Webmotors platform show prices starting from R$ 229,990, which represents a reduction of R$ 28.5k from the table price. There are even lower offers available, reaching R$ 226,900.
With this reduction, the Jetta GLI is now positioned between the Toyota Corolla Altis Premium, priced at R$ 211,990, and the Honda Civic Advanced, valued at R$ 266,500. The price difference compared to the Toyota is R$ 18k, while for the Honda it is R$ 36.5k.
It is important to note that, unlike the Volkswagen, both mentioned rivals operate as hybrid vehicles, integrating combustion and electric engines.
This price drop follows a previous trend, as in July, Volkswagen itself had already lowered the table price of the Jetta GLI, from R$ 278,490 to the current R$ 258,490. Furthermore, on the manufacturer's website, the sedan can be purchased for R$ 239,990 through the trade-in of a used vehicle, or with special zero-interest conditions for those who make a 60% down payment and pay the remainder in 18 installments.
This model, imported from Mexico and available in the country since 2019, was restyled at the end of 2025. Maintaining the tradition of sports cars, it has no type of electrification. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, which uses only gasoline, generates 231 hp and 35.7 kgfm. It features a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
In terms of performance, the sedan can reach 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 249 km/h. Regarding fuel consumption, according to Inmetro, the Jetta GLI achieves 9.9 km/l in the city and 12.2 km/l on the highway. With a length of 4.74 meters, it offers a trunk capacity of 510 liters and comes standard with a panoramic sunroof.
