New six-story building for 1505 places is being constructed at School No. 38 in Tashkent

Construction work has begun at Comprehensive School No. 38 of the Uchtepinsky district in Tashkent to reconstruct and build an additional educational building aimed at improving learning conditions.

Currently, 2339 students are studying at this educational institution, which leads to a high load on existing capacities and a utilization rate reaching 1.9.

Planned changes at the educational institution

The construction of the new building is intended to significantly alleviate the burden on the school. The new building is designed for 1505 student places and will have six floors, including a basement.

The total area occupied by this construction project is 0.4 hectares. It is planned that the entire scope of work will be completed within eight months. After the launch of the new building, the school's utilization rate is expected to decrease from the current 1.9 to 0.9.

By 2030, Tashkent plans to expand its metro system to 79 stations and 103 kilometers of lines

The Tashkent Metro intends to significantly expand its network by 2030. According to the plans, the number of stations is expected to grow to 79, and the total length of the lines will reach 103 kilometers. Additionally, the daily number of passengers is anticipated to increase to 1.8 million people.

Information about these plans was announced during a press conference dedicated to the development of the capital's metro system. Currently, the Tashkent Metro operates with 50 stations, and the total line length is 71 kilometers.

As part of the modernization, it is also planned to reduce the intervals between passing trains to two or three minutes. It is projected that passenger traffic will increase from the current more than 1.2 million people per day to the planned 1.8 million.

The reasons for such a large-scale expansion are linked to the growing population of the capital, the active development of urban infrastructure, and the emergence of new industrial and residential areas. The development program includes the construction of new track sections, renewal of rolling stock, integration of digital technologies, and improvement of the management system.

Over the past seven years, the capital's metro has been supplemented with twenty-one new stations, and the length of its lines has increased by 33 kilometers. Meanwhile, the daily passenger flow has shown growth: in 2021, it was 280–300 thousand people, and by 2026, it exceeded 1.2 million people.

Uzbekistan aims to train one million IT specialists annually in fields from AI to game development

Uzbekistan plans the annual training of one million young citizens in areas such as robotics, computer game creation, startup launching, and other promising fields. To achieve this goal, educational initiatives for schoolchildren will be expanded, new courses launched, and curricula updated in higher education institutions.

These plans were announced at a presentation on the development of digital education before President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. For schoolchildren, there is a plan to expand the 'Al-Khwarizmi Heirs' and 'Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders' projects. Furthermore, interaction will be established between schools, universities, and private training centers, and national trainers will be prepared to ensure the scaling of education.

In universities, the focus will be on in-depth training of specialists in artificial intelligence, microchip design, unmanned technologies, and game development. Special attention will be paid to microelectronics, embedded systems, and the Internet of Things. Students will be more actively involved in practical projects, and scientific research should be integrated into real developments through the support of research laboratories and engineering projects.

There is also a provision for improving the qualifications of informatics teachers in the field of artificial intelligence, followed by certification. University students will be given expanded access to international courses in digital technologies. It is planned to open centers for training iOS developers, building on the experience of Fergana, and to prepare mentors for private training centers.

The authorities also aim to accelerate the launch of online platforms and short-term courses so that young people have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge not only in large settlements but also in regions. It is worth noting that as the chairman of the CIS in 2027, Uzbekistan intends to hold over one hundred events, among which key themes will be robotization, artificial intelligence, as well as scientific cooperation and education in the Commonwealth countries.
