UZEX registered first sales of personal mobile numbers between private individuals

The Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) recorded its first six transactions related to the sale and purchase of personal mobile phone numbers between private individuals. The total value of these transactions exceeded 13.5 million soums.

These operations took place on the UZEX electronic trading platform from October 18 to October 22, 2026. Participants in the electronic auctions acquired mobile numbers, including numbers from telecommunication operators such as Beeline.

Some of the sold numbers featured memorable combinations of the last digits, such as '07 70' and '77 77'. These deals mark a new stage in the development of the mobilraqam.uzex.uz exchange platform of UZEX.

This platform provides users with the ability to buy and sell personal mobile numbers through electronic auctions and the 'Quick Deal' service. The system allows participation in tenders remotely, conducting payments, and completing the re-registration of mobile numbers online.

Thanks to this mechanism, private individuals can conduct transactions without physically attending every stage of the trading process. The development of this system expands citizens' opportunities to manage and sell their personal numbers, offering additional options for carrying out such operations electronically.

Another area of development was the expansion of Uzbek business access to international futures markets. According to Cabinet of Ministers Decree No. 82 of February 27, 2026, Uzbekistan introduced a regulated mechanism allowing local enterprises to participate in international futures trading.

To implement this initiative, UZEX jointly created the joint venture UZEX GLOBAL with the Singaporean investment group PhillipCapital. It allows local market participants to trade futures contracts on copper, wheat, cotton, oil, gold, and other raw materials on international exchanges managed by CME Group, ICE, LME, JPX, and SGX. These instruments also allow market participants to manage risks associated with commodity price fluctuations, including through hedging.

UZEX plans to continue developing the infrastructure of the national exchange, expanding electronic services, improving trading mechanisms, and implementing digital solutions. Priorities also include increasing trading transparency and strengthening international cooperation.
