GGSIPU offers students a last chance to pass exams for graduation while meeting conditions

Some students fail to complete their studies within the stipulated timeframe due to missing certain exams or exhausting all testing opportunities. In such cases, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has provided an additional opportunity for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students.

This supplementary graduation examination will allow students to pass remaining subjects and receive their degree. The deadline for applying to this program is set for November 6, 2026.

The university has offered this service in accordance with Ordinances 10, 11, and 25. It is intended for students whose academic period has concluded and who have also exhausted all examination opportunities before June 2026.

However, not all students are eligible to take advantage of this. The student must have fulfilled all other requirements of their course, with only a few subjects remaining to be passed. Students who still have opportunities to take regular exams cannot apply for this extra chance.

Those wishing to participate in this exam must submit an application by November 6, 2026. The application must include a list of all subjects or exams they intend to retake. The application must be signed by the relevant Dean, Director, or Faculty member, as applications without the necessary signatures will not be accepted.

According to the preliminary schedule published by the university, the exams will be conducted in an offline format. They are scheduled for both even and odd semesters. For the odd semester, the exams will take place from December 2026 to January 2027, and for the even semester, from May to June 2027.

To participate in this supplementary examination, students must pay a continuation fee of 25,000 rupees. Additionally, there is an extra charge of 1,200 rupees for each subject the student wishes to retake. Thus, the total payment amount will depend on the number of subjects the student plans to retake.

Unit's Entrance Exam for 2027 to be held in October; registrations open

For those intending to start higher education in 2027, the time to take the first step is approaching. In Sergipe, the entrance exam for the Tiradentes University (Unit) for admission in the first semester is scheduled for October 18, 2026. This selection represents the beginning of a new academic journey for students aiming for professional training, new opportunities, and preparation for an increasingly dynamic job market.

In addition to choosing a field of study, the student must find a formative experience that aligns with their goals and their real situation. With this in mind, Unit has reformed its portfolio and adjusted its teaching methodologies and formats to accommodate diverse student profiles, always maintaining a focus on excellence and academic quality.

The university structures undergraduate programs according to the specifics of each course and in compliance with the current guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MEC). The proposal integrates multiple forms of learning, supported by three crucial pillars for professional development: technology, practice, and flexibility.

A highlight among the innovations is the blended learning format, ideal for those who need to balance higher education studies with other obligations, especially work. This modality offers a more adaptable alternative for managing the academic routine of those who are already employed and do not wish to leave their jobs to study.

Unit's new teaching model also intensifies the use of approaches that connect the student to professional reality. Among these methodologies is Project-Based Learning (PBL), which encourages the application of knowledge in solving practical scenarios and developing projects.

The objective is to ensure that the student not only absorbs content but also knows how to apply it. This link between theory and practice helps develop essential skills for professional life, such as problem-solving, teamwork, decision-making, and innovation.

The undergraduate program offered in the blended format maintains the same quality standard as the in-person format, featuring the same laboratories and professors. The model stipulates that the student studies three days in person and two days online.

Registrations are now open. Evaluation criteria include the score obtained in Enem or a simplified process involving essay analysis.

In Sergipe, the new blended format is available in several courses and campuses of Unit. At the Farolândia Campus, Gastronomy, Pedagogy, and Occupational Therapy are available. At the Estância Campus, the courses offered are Physical Education, Pedagogy, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy.

Additionally, the Itabaiana Campus offers Physical Education, Pedagogy, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy, while the Propriá Campus offers Physical Education, Pedagogy, and Occupational Therapy. This variety of courses and locations expands options for those seeking to start higher education with a format compatible with their routine.

110-year-old woman receives academic degree after 89 years of waiting

A 110-year-old Spanish woman finally received her university diploma after nearly nine decades, as the document had never been issued to her before.

Isaura, who turned 110, completed a primary teacher course at the University of Leon in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War.

After almost nine decades of waiting, the elderly woman was presented with an academic certificate and also given a silver spathula.

The university's Instagram post stated: 'We were finally able to present the primary education teacher's diploma to Ms. Isaura Martín Granizo, a 110-year-old lady who finished her studies in 1937 but could not receive it due to the political circumstances of that time.'

The same post added: 'Talking with Isaura was a real gift and experience that reminds us of the value of education and the importance of completing stories that have long awaited their moment.'

According to Telecinco, the reason Isaura did not receive the diploma upon finishing the course is related to the fact that Spain was experiencing a civil war at that time. The Spanish Civil War began in 1936 following a military coup against the legitimately elected republican government and ended in 1939.
