The beginning of November brought unfavorable news for those intending to purchase Raspberry Pi boards: the versions equipped with 16 GB of RAM for the Raspberry Pi 5 and the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 had their prices increased by up to US$ 80.
This adjustment represents the fifth price increase applied to products in the Raspberry Pi line since December 2025. Although the adjustments have focused on specific items each period, this trend causes the boards to progressively lose their cost-benefit appeal.
Specifically, the 16 GB Raspberry Pi 5 went from US$ 305 to US$ 385 (equivalent to R$ 2,094 in direct conversion). It is relevant to note that in 2025, this same model was officially sold for US$ 120. This product had already undergone increases in December 2025, February, and April 2026, and now in November.
The 16 GB version of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 received a smaller but still significant increase of US$ 40. However, the prices of these boards may vary depending on other selected specifications, such as storage capacity or the inclusion of Wi-Fi connectivity.
The reason for these increases is linked to the scarcity of RAM. The CEO of Raspberry Pi explained that the lack of alternative supply for 16 GB DRAM, combined with the continuous shortage of other components, requires new price adjustments in some of the higher-density products.
Additionally, the text mentions that the current official prices for the Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi 4 lines include the adjusted values of the 2 GB RAM versions, which were applied in October 2026.
