During the preparation and holding of the Diyotsav festival in Ayodhya, the head of the government, Yogi Adityanath, emphasized its economic significance. He noted that the grand festival in Ayodhya Dham represents not just a celebration of traditions and faith, but also a source of new energy for local artisans, farmers, and small entrepreneurs.
Every lit lamp during Diyotsav, according to Yogi Adityanath, is connected to the labor of the potter, the harvest of the farmer, and the family's income. Before arriving in Ayodhya, the head of the government shared his opinion on the social network X, writing that every light illuminates the work of the potter, the harvest of the farmer, and the family's livelihood, thereby making Diyotsav a means of strengthening the local economy alongside faith.
In his message, the head of the government pointed out that before 2017, no special measures were taken to connect Ayodhya's cultural and religious potential with the economic growth of local artisans, farmers, and small traders. At that time, there was no understanding of how to turn such a major religious event into new opportunities for employment and earnings.
Yogi Adityanath stated that the government, with a 'dual engine,' has made attempts to change this situation. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Diyotsav, shining with millions of lights, today creates new jobs and business opportunities for potters, workers, and small traders. He added that the hope for the well-being of a hardworking family is ignited by the same lamp that illuminates all of Ramnagari.
