The number of daily active users more than doubled since June, reaching over 300,000. The company noted that early engagement is observed in markets including Japan, the USA, and South Korea.

Sudhanshu Batia, co-founder and CEO of Matiks, stated that while content consumption has become very easy over the last decade, much less effort has been put into making the use of our brains as engaging. He added that Matiks was founded on a simple belief: using your brain can be as fun and exciting as any other form of entertainment.

He emphasized the company's ambitions: 'Our goal is to make mental sports as culturally significant as physical sports and esports, providing mental athletes, puzzle enthusiasts, and competitive gamers with the visibility, community, and recognition they deserve. With AI, we want anyone, anywhere in the world, to be able to create a mind-training game that millions can play. We are not trying to distract people from their phones; we are trying to give them something better to do on them.'

The company reported that users who complete a seven-day streak show a 62% retention rate after one month, while some early groups retained 32% of users at week 52. The recently launched single-player puzzle format, SNAC, has also contributed to increased engagement time, as sessions with this format last approximately three times longer.

Rahul Humayan, a partner at General Catalyst, noted that the platform meets the demand for alternatives to traditional digital content. He said: 'Negative content consumes a growing share of our screen time, and Matiks creates an alternative: a social platform for brain games where people challenge friends, learn from each other, and will soon use AI to create their own games. Sudhanshu, Sushant, and Mohan have created one of the most engaged communities we have seen in the consumer segment, from casual players to world champions, and now they are taking it global. We are proud of our partnership with them as they turn brain games into a distinct category.'

Initially, Matiks will focus its efforts on expanding in the USA before moving into other Tier 1 markets. Furthermore, the company plans to increase investments in engineering, AI, product, design, game development, and growth while scaling partnerships with creators and global distribution.

Development is planned for an AI-based game creation engine that will allow users to create, publish, and share mind games in various formats. User-generated content is expected to increase the diversity of games available on the platform.

Optivolt raises $32 million to develop intelligent solar technologies

Optivolt has successfully raised $32 million in a Series A funding round to advance its intelligent solar technologies. The investment round was led by VXI Capital, with participation from RA Capital, Valo Ventures, and Atlas Innovate. This infusion brings the company's total raised capital to $42 million.

Optivolt was founded by Rohit Kalyandpur and develops power electronics technologies designed to boost the performance of solar panels. The company's product helps compensate for energy losses that occur when traditional panels operate in real-world conditions.

The new funding is planned to be used for expanding production capacity and entering new solar energy markets. The company has already supplied over 20,000 panels equipped with its Power Balancer technology. Optivolt's ambitions cover both residential installations and large-scale projects, including solar systems that help meet the growing electricity demands of artificial intelligence data centers.

The investments demonstrate interest in tools that improve existing renewable energy technologies. Although solar panels have become cheaper, they do not always deliver expected efficiency outside of laboratory settings. Optivolt aims to change this situation with electronics integrated into the panel.

Standard solar panels can lose output power if individual cells are affected by shading, dirt, or degradation. Under certain circumstances, one group of low-performing cells can limit the overall power output of a larger section. Furthermore, traditional bypass diodes can exclude damaged groups from the generation process.

Optivolt's Power Balancer technology solves this problem by managing energy between cell groups in real time. The system reacts to changing conditions rather than relying solely on the passive architecture of the panel. This approach aims to recover energy that traditional systems might otherwise lose.

Additionally, the technology includes monitoring and rapid shutdown features directly within the panel. According to Optivolt, this could reduce the need for separate optimizers, microinverters, and rapid shutdown devices. Fewer additional components simplify system design and installation.

With the funds secured in the Series A round, the company intends to scale up production. The company's goal is to make its technology accessible for various sizes of solar installations. Increased production capacity will help meet demand from both private consumers and large users.

The firm reports having 19 granted patents and 27 patent applications. Three certifications have been obtained for the sealed enclosure with an integrated connection block, integrated panel electronics, as well as for rapid shutdown and solar module safety.

Internal testing by Optivolt showed that panels using its technology generated up to six times more power compared to panels with external optimizers under specific shading conditions. It should be noted that this figure relates to specific test conditions and does not necessarily reflect increased performance in all installations.

The expansion of AI infrastructure increases focus on reliability and power generation. Data centers require significant amounts of energy, which opens opportunities for technologies that enhance renewable energy output. Optivolt believes its method can improve the economic efficiency of solar projects throughout their lifespan, as recovering more energy from installed panels increases generation without requiring a proportional increase in panel capacity.

VXI Capital's investment supports the company's plan to scale beyond current deployments. However, wider adoption will depend on production growth, operational performance, and economic viability for customers. The company needs to demonstrate consistent advantages across different environments and installation types.

The company focuses on creating specialized AI technologies for frontline industries where operational complexities arise from the need for mass hiring, geographically distributed teams, and linguistic diversity—challenges that traditional HR systems cannot effectively solve.

Krishna Handelwal, co-founder and CEO of Hunar.AI, noted that managing the workforce on the frontline is one of the largest yet least satisfied opportunities in corporate AI. He emphasized that solving this problem requires a deep understanding of industry workflows, multilingual capabilities, and technology capable of reliably executing tasks at scale, rather than simply applying generic models to existing processes.

Hunar was founded in 2022 by Krishna Handelwal and Shantanu Bhattacharya. The Hunar platform includes Hunar Voice and Hunar Connect, which utilize conversational AI agents to manage personnel workflows via voice messages, WhatsApp, and chats. These workflows cover candidate sourcing and selection, interview scheduling, onboarding, training, employee engagement, and retention. By automating high-volume interactions, the platform helps enterprises manage frontline operations while maintaining connectivity with candidates and employees across different locations.

Arpit Agrawal, Partner at Blume Ventures, stated that as the world turns to India for lessons in managing these new types of businesses at scale, Hunar is building the AI layer that makes it possible. He added that due to its focus on outcomes rather than infrastructure, Hunar has the potential to create a category in India that can scale globally.

According to the company's statement, in September 2026, Hunar AI agents processed over 15 million conversations, with the volume of these conversations doubling quarterly. Hunar's clients include Swiggy, Delhivery, Instamart, Pronto, Blue Dart, Flipkart, Aditya Birla Capital, and Tata Croma. Furthermore, NITI Aayog predicts that India's gig workforce will grow from approximately 10 million workers in 2024–25 to 23.5 million by 2029–30. As businesses expand in cities and regions, effective hiring, onboarding, and retention have become an important operational priority, yet many processes still rely on manual calls, follow-ups, and coordination.
