According to information from Hududgazta‘minot JSC, Uzbekistan plans to raise the basic monthly natural gas consumption norm for residential buildings to 500 cubic meters during the heating season, starting from November 2026. This figure is five times higher than the previous level.
The new increased norm will be valid from November to February. For the rest of the year, i.e., from March to October, the basic norm will remain unchanged at 100 cubic meters per month.
In Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, a special condition applies due to higher gas consumption in autumn and winter: there, the norm of 500 cubic meters will be valid longer, from October to February.
The basic norm determines the volume of gas paid at the lowest tariff. During the heating season, the first 500 cubic meters will cost 1,100 soms per cubic meter. From March to October, the same rate will apply to the first 100 cubic meters.
Consumption exceeding the basic norm will be tariffed at progressively increasing rates. During the heating season, volumes from 501 to 2,500 cubic meters will cost 2,000 soms per cubic meter. Outside the heating season, this rate applies to consumption from 101 to 2,500 cubic meters.
Tariffs for consumption from 2,501 to 5,000 cubic meters are 2,300 soms per cubic meter; for volumes from 5,001 to 10,000 cubic meters—2,700 soms; and for volumes exceeding 10,000 cubic meters—3,300 soms.
Natural gas tariffs for households came into effect on June 1, 2026, based on Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 243 of May 15, 2026, 'On establishing prices for fuel and energy resources.'
