Following the film 'Stri', Shraddha Kapoor is preparing for the release of her new film project 'Ita', which tells the story of a dancer whose Lavani performances once caused a sensation in Maharashtra. The film was long a subject of attention because it was mistakenly linked to the life of the legendary Lavani performer Vitabai. However, the director of 'Ita', Lakshman Utekar, provided clarification on this matter.
Some time ago, there was a dispute regarding the title of the film 'Ita', as the question arose as to why 'Ita' was chosen instead of Vitabai's name. Nevertheless, the director reassured Vitabai's family, after which the situation calmed down. Now he asserts that this film is not a work about Vitabai's life.
During the trailer presentation, Lakshman Utekar was asked whether the screening of the film would be organized for the family of the famous Lavani performer Vitabai. The director clearly stated that 'Ita' was not created as a tribute to Vitabai. Instead, the film's story is inspired by certain events described in a book dedicated to her life. He emphasized that the film is not intended to honor Vitabai, but is based on events from the book 'Tamasha: Vitabaicha Aayushacha'.
Before working on the film 'Ita', Lakshman Utekar directed the film 'Chawa' with Vicky Kaushal, which became the second highest-grossing film in the Hindi cinema industry last year. This film was based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, where viewers saw the story of the battle and rebellion between Sambhaji Maharaj and the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb.
Now, after 'Chawa', 'Ita' is also a story based on real events, and its premiere is scheduled for December 4. In addition to Shraddha Kapoor, the film will also feature actors such as Randeep Hooda, the late actor Nana Patekar, Mohammed Shishan Ayub, Anant Joshi, and Siddharth Jadhav.
