The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (Ireda) announced that Jatin Kumar Nayak has taken on the responsibilities of Chairman and Managing Director.
Prior to this appointment, Nayak held the position of Executive Director of Finance at REC Ltd. He possesses over thirty years of rich and diverse work experience.
Previously, he worked at NHPC, Hindustan Copper, National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO), and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd. He also served as the Financial Director at the former REC Transmission Projects Company Limited, which is a subsidiary of REC.
Nayak's experience spans the energy sector, as well as industries requiring significant resources, including mining and metallurgy. He also has extensive knowledge in attracting domestic and international resources, strategic treasury management, corporate finance, taxation and legal matters, project evaluation and monitoring, credit operations, debt recovery, and distressed asset management.
Jatin Kumar Nayak holds a Master of Commerce degree from Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a qualified company secretary. His appointment was preliminarily approved by the Cabinet Committee on Appointments (ACC).
