Review of Consistent Wi-Fi Surveillance Camera: Assessing its Suitability for Home Monitoring

Video surveillance systems are becoming an integral part of modern life, whether in city apartments or rural homes. If you believe that installing a camera requires a significant budget, there are many cheaper alternatives available on the market. We tested one such smart security camera.

This camera is easy to install and use; it connects via Wi-Fi and is controlled using a mobile phone. This is about the wireless Wi-Fi mini-robotic camera Consistent with a 3MP resolution.

The camera is equipped with numerous features, including 3MP resolution, pan-tilt rotation, intelligent human detection, night vision, and two-way audio communication. It can be used for monitoring both indoors and outdoors.

This Consistent camera implements a panning and tilting mechanism. Many other cameras are limited to operating only at a fixed point. Thanks to the panning and tilting functions, the Consistent camera can cover a large area. This allows the camera to monitor several zones from one point. For example, if the camera is installed in the living room, it can monitor the sofa area, the entrance door, and other parts of the room. However, the effectiveness depends on the size of the room.

The camera has a 3MP resolution, which provides higher quality performance compared to Full HD (2MP) cameras commonly found in this price segment. It also features a 10X digital zoom function, allowing a specific area in the recording to be magnified. It should be noted that excessive zooming can result in a blurry image.

This Consistent camera features round-the-clock color vision and infrared night vision up to 20 meters away. This differs from most budget cameras, which provide monochrome infrared recording at night. A feature of this model is the ability to display color video even in low-light conditions.

Motion detection is a standard feature in security cameras, available in many budget models. However, the Consistent camera implements intelligent human detection. This function activates an alert only when human movement is detected, not with any ordinary movement.

The two-way audio communication feature makes this camera special for its price range. The user can hear sound through the camera and transmit their voice back. This is similar to making a phone call. The camera supports Wi-Fi connection, eliminating the need for a SIM card. It can be controlled via the CEYE mobile application. The camera also supports SD memory cards up to 256GB for local video storage, and the company also offers cloud storage.

According to the official Consistent website, the retail price of this camera is 3499 rupees. In this price range, the company offers several useful features, such as intelligent human detection and two-way communication, which set it apart from competitors. The Consistent mini-robotic camera belongs to the CEYE series and may suit those who want to get panning/tilting, human detection, night vision, and two-way audio communication features within a limited budget. However, one should not expect high-end security levels from it.

During our testing, the camera worked satisfactorily, and we did not find any malfunctions. However, the true state of the camera is only understood after prolonged use. Initially, we considered it a good surveillance camera that is very easy to operate. From a price perspective, this camera is a worthy choice.

Private cameras in Uzbekistan will start recording drivers without seatbelts; income conditions for owners defined

Starting November 1st, private automated cameras in Uzbekistan will be able to record drivers and passengers in the front seats if they are not wearing seatbelts. Owners of such systems will receive a percentage of the collected fines, and by meeting certain conditions, their monthly income can reach tens of millions of soms.

This change is regulated by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 596, approved on October 29, 2026. This document expands the list of traffic violations that private photo and video recording installations can detect.

Requirements for the cameras include the ability to clearly identify the driver's face, the presence or absence of a seatbelt, and the vehicle's license plate number. Furthermore, the system must transmit violation data—date, time, and coordinates—to the 'Administrative Practice' module. An important technical requirement is the presence of a backup power source that guarantees the equipment's autonomous operation for at least eight hours in case of power failure.

According to current regulations, during the first two years of complex operation, the owner receives 50% of all collected fines. After this period, the share decreases to 25%. The fine for driving without a seatbelt is 0.5 BRV, equivalent to 220 thousand soms. However, if the fine is paid within 15 days, a 50% discount is provided, reducing the amount to 110 thousand soms.

Based on published data calculations, if a camera records 50 violations daily, and all these fines are paid with a discount, the owner can expect to receive approximately 82.5 million soms monthly during the first two years. It should be noted that this is only a hypothetical calculation, and actual income will directly depend on the total number of recorded and actually paid violations.

The legislation establishes several exceptions that exempt certain categories of citizens from the obligation to use seatbelts. These categories include pregnant women, driving instructors, and some special transport drivers. Provisions are also made for individuals suffering from diseases included in the Ministry of Health's list.

Amazon offers Wi-Fi camera promotion to increase home security

Home security has become more accessible thanks to the smart cameras currently available on the market. Three options on sale on Amazon have been selected that offer good image quality, Wi-Fi connectivity, and practical monitoring features.

Among the options, the TP-Link Tapo C200 stands out, a versatile indoor camera that features 360-degree rotation and Full HD 1080p resolution. This model includes night vision, two-way audio, motion detection, and is compatible with Alexa. Furthermore, it supports microSD cards up to 512 GB and cloud storage, making it ideal for easily monitoring indoor spaces.

For outdoor use, there is a kit consisting of two IP A8 Outdoor Wi-Fi Security Cameras, designed to be water-resistant. These cameras are equipped with real-time monitoring and infrared night vision, representing a practical solution for watching entrances, garages, or other external areas that require continuous surveillance while maintaining a wireless connection.

Another alternative presented is a Smart Wi-Fi Security Camera that offers 355-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical rotation, allowing it to cover almost every angle of the environment. Its installation is simplified, requiring only connection to a two-pin socket, and monitoring can be done directly from the mobile phone.
