São Paulo's Historic Center will host the Fiesta de Los Muertos, an event inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead

The Historic Center of São Paulo will host the first edition of Fiesta de Los Muertos on November 2nd, an event inspired by the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. The organization of this event is the responsibility of the São Paulo City Hall, through the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism.

The program is packed with various activities, including musical performances, mariachi shows, artistic interventions, and a circuit dedicated to typical Mexican gastronomy.

The attractions will be distributed across several points in the central area. In Praça do Patriarca, activities will begin at 1:30 PM with the Mariachis SP group, followed by Banda Viva a Noite at 3:30 PM. Later, at 5:30 PM, the stage will be occupied by the electronic music duo DubDogz.

Other locations in the center will also feature music. The mariachis will have a second performance at Praça Antônio Prado at 4:00 PM. At Largo do Café, DJs will be present starting at 3:00 PM, and Rua Direita will feature performances by Amanda Lig at 4:00 PM and LSIDE at 6:00 PM.

Additionally, Viaduto Santa Ifigênia will host an exhibition, a tunnel designed for photography and scenic interventions. In this location, actors dressed in costumes will interact with visitors through performances and scares.

Mexican cuisine will also be a highlight of Fiesta de Los Muertos. Nine establishments will participate in the gastronomic circuit, offering dishes, desserts, and drinks prepared specifically for this date.

The festival alludes to Día de los Muertos, which is celebrated in Mexico between November 1st and 2nd. This tradition is based on the belief that during this period, the spirits of those who have passed away return to visit their families. The date is celebrated with colors, music, food, and tributes that serve to keep the memory of friends and relatives who have passed alive.

Vitória a Minas Railway resumes night trips in December with new prices and schedules

The Vitória a Minas Railway (EFVM) will resume offering night trips starting in December as part of the Holiday Train Special Operation. Tickets for these routes are already available for purchase, with up to 45 days advance booking.

Passengers can purchase their tickets online, at physical station ticket offices, or at accredited points of sale. The night trips operate in both directions, connecting Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, without interfering with the regular daytime schedules of the passenger train, which will continue its normal operation.

Costs remain the same as daytime trips: R$ 87 for economy class and R$ 125 for executive class, covering the entire route from Cariacica/ES to Belo Horizonte/MG. Sales are released gradually, with new dates made available daily, always 45 days in advance.

The estimated time to complete the entire journey is approximately 12 hours.

Schedules and Route

For the route from Cariacica (Pedro Nolasco Station) to Belo Horizonte, departure is scheduled for 6 PM, with an expected arrival in Belo Horizonte at 7:50 AM the following day. In the opposite direction, from Belo Horizonte to Cariacica (Pedro Nolasco Station), departure will be at 7 PM, and arrival in Cariacica should be at 8:15 AM the next day.

According to Vale, the company responsible for operating EFVM, this will be the third cycle in which the night service will be offered to travelers. Customers had the option to choose between December 2025 and January 2026, as well as July 2026, taking advantage of school breaks when ticket demand usually increases.

Ticket System Modernization

Before the start of the December trips, the EFVM's ticketing management and sales system will undergo an update. The new platform will come into effect on November 11, bringing changes to both the purchasing procedure and the website usability.

Due to this migration, ticket sales will be suspended across all channels, including the website, between 10 PM on November 10 and 6 AM on November 11. After this period, all users must register anew. It is recommended that passengers use the same email address previously registered, which will allow them to link already purchased but unused tickets. If the user does not remember the email, they can check it at a ticket office or authorized point of sale, or by calling 0800 285 7000, until 9:59 PM on November 10.

Those who make purchases on the current platform will secure their ticket and will not need subsequent validation; they just need to register on the new platform to access their tickets and recent purchase history. If there are any complications, a second copy can be requested directly at the ticket office.

Fares and Free Travel

There are special fare conditions for different groups. Seniors aged 60 or older with an income below two minimum wages are entitled to two free tickets per train in economy class. When the free spots run out, other eligible seniors may receive a 50% discount.

People with disabilities (PcD) can also benefit from free travel in economy class, provided they present the documentation required by legislation.

Low-income youth, between 15 and 29 years old, who are enrolled in CadÚnico, have a monthly family income of up to two minimum wages, and present the Youth ID (ID Jovem), are entitled to two free tickets per train.
