FromSoftware's Game The Duskbloods Postponed to 2027 for Adjustments

FromSoftware's upcoming title, known as The Duskbloods, has officially been postponed to 2027. Previously, the game, which is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, was scheduled for release in 2026.

According to a statement released by the developer via the X platform (formerly known as Twitter), this date change occurred after the team analyzed feedback gathered during a recent network test. The purpose of this change is to allow for the implementation of improvements aimed at optimizing the player experience before the debut.

FromSoftware communicated that the project's development is already in its final stage and apologized for the delay. Currently, no specific date for the new release has been disclosed.

Unlike titles such as Elden Ring and Dark Souls, which are widely recognized for their action RPG experiences, The Duskbloods will focus on online multiplayer combat, supporting up to eight participants. Players will take on the role of the Twilight Bloodsworn, fantastic entities that acquire unique powers through the strength of blood.

Game sessions will allow participants to establish temporary pacts and compete against other users in disputes over a resource called First Blood. This concept blends elements of cooperation with highly competitive confrontations within a dark fantasy setting.

With this postponement, The Duskbloods is now part of the 2027 release schedule, although without a defined month or day. The game maintains its exclusivity for the Nintendo Switch 2. It is expected that FromSoftware will provide more details about the launch and the modifications implemented after the network test in the coming months.

Free game Sorry We’re Closed available on Epic Games Store until November 5th

The Epic Games Store makes at least one free title available for download weekly. This week, the game Sorry We’re Closed, classified as retro survival horror, arrives with both visual and gameplay mechanic updates, accessible from October 29th to November 5th.

Sorry We’re Closed presents a survival horror narrative centered on the clash between angels and demons, combining elements of terror with vibrant and colorful visuals. The title is a reinterpretation of the genre, inspired by PlayStation 1 classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but maintaining its own identity in terms of aesthetics and mechanics.

The gameplay adheres to the traditional format of the genre, including exploration, combat against creatures, puzzle-solving, and the use of fixed camera angles. Additionally, the game incorporates social aspects; interactions with characters advance the story, introduce new missions and objectives, and allow for the unlocking of different endings based on player decisions.

The fixed camera contributes to creating tension without compromising the gaming experience. An additional element, the third eye, serves to connect the real and demonic universes, being used in the search for hidden passages and during combat. During confrontations, the perspective shifts to first-person and movement is restricted, intensifying the pressure, similar to older survival horror games.

Regarding the plot, the storyline deviates from the usual standard of the genre. The player takes on the role of Michelle, a character with limited lifespan, who tries to break a curse imposed by a demon thirsty for love. The story addresses various themes, such as prejudice and discrimination, and may not appeal to everyone, despite offering an immersive survival horror experience.

Sorry We’re Closed establishes itself as a unique addition to survival horror on Epic Games, mixing terror, style, and innovative mechanics. It is aimed at retro game enthusiasts looking for engaging novelties.

Microsoft will end Copilot support on LG Smart TVs by the end of 2026

LG will stop offering Copilot on its smart TVs as the integration with Microsoft's artificial intelligence will be discontinued by the end of 2026. This information was communicated through a notification directed to the webOS system of the brand's devices. The feature had been implemented since 2025 as a native AI, allowing users to get answers and suggestions based on their activities.

According to the message sent to the televisions, the decision to suspend support came from Microsoft and affects both the Copilot chat application and its functionalities within the operating system. Tecnoblog checked the feature on an LG TV and confirmed the end of this integration in models sold in Brazil.

According to the Windows Central portal, which reported the news, this change reflects a strategic shift adopted by the American company. In September, Microsoft announced modifications to its AI services, redirecting its focus to productivity.

Microsoft consolidated the two existing applications, the standard Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot. With this unification, the intention is for the service to function less as a mere chat and more as a productivity tool, whether assisting with the Office suite or executing more complex programming tasks.

Due to this strategic reorientation, maintaining the model on LG TVs lost its relevance. It is important to note that Samsung TVs also received Copilot integration, but this application is no longer available on Tizen systems.

The presence of Copilot on LG Smart TVs was brief and marked by controversy. Although the announcement occurred during CES 2025 in January, the integration effectively began in December, using a web application that could not be removed. Additionally, the arrival of this application occurred via a 'forced' download on the manufacturer's TVs.

At the time, many consumers were surprised and expressed dissatisfaction with the inclusion of the application. Even though it was classified as 'native,' the feature essentially functioned with a web version of the AI, without complete integration with the television. More than ten months after the launch, users received the notification about the end of this partnership.

New portable Xbox and Project Helix may have delayed launch and high price, according to report

Microsoft is reportedly planning to introduce a new portable device in the Xbox line by the end of 2027, while the next-generation console, named Project Helix, would only be released at the end of 2028. This information was obtained through an article published by Fortune magazine regarding the current plans of the company's gaming division leadership, although the timeline has not yet been officially confirmed by Microsoft.

Despite the lack of official confirmation, the suggested timeline partially aligns with previously disclosed data. The company had already announced Project Helix and informed that preliminary versions of the hardware would be delivered to developers in 2027, but did not specify the public consumer sales date.

According to Fortune, Microsoft anticipates the commercial launch of the console for the end of 2028. Furthermore, the company revealed that the hardware will feature a new custom AMD chip as part of a larger strategy to unify Xbox and PC into a true 'device family.' The goal of this unification is to reduce disparities between the two platforms and facilitate the game development process.

Prior to the main console launch, the company plans to make a next-generation portable device available at the end of 2027. It is not defined whether this portable device will be produced directly by Microsoft or if there will be a partnership for its development. It is worth noting that the company has already collaborated with Asus on the creation of the ROG Xbox Ally line, which integrates PC hardware with a Windows interface optimized for gaming.

The report also addresses the projected price of the console. Internally, Project Helix is estimated to be valued between US$ 1,200 and US$ 1,800, which is approximately R$ 6,000 and R$ 9,000 in direct conversion. This estimate takes into account a scenario where Microsoft does not offer subsidies, suggesting that the final price could be lower.

This perspective is not entirely surprising, given that company executives had already signaled, even before the formal announcement, that the next Xbox would have a more sophisticated positioning. This is due to the significant advances expected in technologies such as ray tracing and upscaling, in addition to the ability to run PC games and maintain compatibility with titles from previous generations.

Additionally, Fortune points out that Microsoft is analyzing a possible restructuring of Game Pass, seeking a more flexible architecture. The service could incorporate tiered plans, in addition to offering paid add-ons specific to the console game catalog, cloud gaming services, and multiplayer. This idea is still in the development phase.

All this strategic movement occurs while Asha Sharma, CEO of Xbox, works to expand the brand's reach, reorganize internal studios, and concentrate investments on the company's most important franchises.
