Many people believe that achieving good physical shape requires visiting a gym, expensive diets, and taking supplements. However, fitness model Milind Soman and his family refuted this claim, stating that simply staying active every day is enough.
At the Healthwealth summit, Milind Soman noted that in modern society, people tend to associate maintaining fitness exclusively with going to gyms, taking protein supplements, and following special nutrition plans. There is a common misconception that the body cannot be healthy without regular workouts or an expensive diet, but this is not true.
'India's Fittest Family,' known as the Milind Soman family, shared their experience regarding health. During the discussion, they emphasized that the most important condition for good well-being is daily physical activity and movement. Milind Soman admitted that genetics can play a role in fitness, but a good gene alone is not enough; one must start acting.
He advised starting with simple steps: walking daily, exercising, or participating in some form of sport. Soman clarified that obtaining medals at the Olympic Games requires a specific training regimen, but ordinary people can start any physical activity based on their capabilities.
Milind mentioned that he himself does not exercise for more than 10 minutes a day, does not go to the gym, and does not rely on any supplements. However, his lifestyle has always been active since childhood, and this habit has helped him maintain his shape over a long period. He added that consistently following healthy habits becomes easier to maintain over time.
Soman also stressed that not everyone needs to spend many hours in the gym doing intense workouts. Ordinary exercises can be done at home. Although specific preparation is needed for goals such as participating in a marathon or learning boxing, for maintaining general fitness, activities like walking, climbing stairs, swimming, cycling, and doing household chores are suitable for a person.
