The Umodzi Epicentre Community Center, developed by Kamuna Design Studio, reflects the Chichewa proverb 'Mutu umodzi susenza denga,' which means that one person cannot support a roof. This saying illustrates how the center was built.
Located in the Vubwi district, in the border area between Malawi and Mozambique, the project was carried out by members of the local community. They actively participated in the construction, manually molding bricks, raising walls, and installing roofs.
Currently, this community space plays a fundamental role, offering support for education, professional training, and services to more than 26,000 individuals spread across 126 villages.
