Ford is once again making a more accessible entry option available in the Brazilian market for the Mustang model equipped with a V8 engine. This is the 2026 Mustang GT Performance, which will be sold at dealerships for R$ 569 thousand. This price is R$ 80 thousand lower than that of the Mustang Dark Horse, which remains in the lineup for R$ 649 thousand.
The GT Performance was responsible for introducing the seventh generation of this muscle car to the country in 2024, when its initial launch, consisting of 150 units, sold out in just one hour, priced at R$ 529 thousand. In 2025, this model was discontinued due to the arrival of the Dark Horse.
Visual modifications include details such as logos, emblems, 19-inch wheels, roof, mirrors, and spoiler, which now feature a black finish. Additionally, the color palette has been expanded, adding Adriatic Blue and Avalanche Gray to the four existing options.
Under the hood, the vehicle features the naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 engine, which generates 492 hp and 57.8 kgfm. This engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and has rear-wheel drive. According to Ford, the coupe can reach 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Although slightly less powerful than the Dark Horse, which has a track-focused configuration, the GT Performance offers advanced dynamic features. The MagneRide adaptive suspension, along with stabilizers inherited from the Mustang Mach 1 and Brembo brakes, ensures superior dynamic behavior. The car's sensors also monitor road irregularities; if a front wheel suddenly drops, a magnetic fluid hardens the shock absorber.
The Track Apps package incorporates features such as drift brake and Line Lock, which serves to lock the front wheels, allowing the rear tires to warm up before a run. Additionally, the Remote Rev system, developed by Ford engineering in Brazil, allows the engine to be started remotely via the key, just to enjoy the sound of the V8. To respect neighbors, the exhaust system has a silent mode with programmable scheduling.
Inside, the 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster operates alongside the 13.2-inch SYNC 4 multimedia center. The B&O audio system delivers 900 W, and the leather-upholstered seats have heating and ventilation functions. In terms of safety, the vehicle is equipped with seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking function.
