Uzbekistan has presented a draft strategy for the development of domestic passenger transport until 2030, which proposes giving public transport priority when refueling with gas during the autumn-winter season.
This measure is included in the draft presidential decree on the strategy. According to the proposal, the Council of Ministers of the Karakalpakstan Republic, along with the administration of the region and the city of Tashkent, together with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Transport, must ensure the uninterrupted supply of gas fuel to public transport.
To implement this proposal, a separate queue will be introduced at gas stations for buses and other types of public transport, which is called the 'green corridor'. This will ensure that passenger transport operators receive priority service during the autumn-winter period.
The draft itself does not specify when this measure will come into force, which specific gas stations will implement this system, or how the separate queues will be organized. At the moment, the initiative remains only a proposal in the draft document and has not yet gained legal force.
