Study reveals link between gliflozin intake and increases in hemoglobin and hematocrit

A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by scientists from five different countries established a correlation between the use of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, known as gliflozins, and a significant increase in hemoglobin and hematocrit levels.

This increase was observed in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, and chronic kidney disease. According to the analysis results, the average increase in hemoglobin concentration was 0.6 grams per deciliter, and the hematocrit level increased by 2.36 percent.

The results of this scientific study were officially published in The Journal of the American Medical Association.
