Amazon has released an update to its Echo line, introducing three new devices: Echo Dot, Echo Time, and Echo Studio, all equipped with cameras. These devices are compatible with Alexa and can also operate with the Alexa+ version.
The new products were announced for several countries, including Brazil, where initial prices start at R$ 819.
The Echo Dot maintains its rounded, portable speaker format but now has the capability to function as a 'smart home hub,' eliminating the need for external equipment to manage other smart home devices. Furthermore, its acoustics have been improved, allowing for 50% more intense bass reproduction.
The Echo Time represents a completely new product, unlike a simple update. Although it resembles an Echo Dot, it incorporates a screen, and its primary function is to serve as a smart alarm clock. A strong feature of this model is Omnisense technology, which monitors specific parameters to wake the user during light sleep phases. The Echo Time screen gradually adjusts its brightness at dawn and remains darker during the night.
The Echo Studio, which already existed, now features an integrated camera, as indicated by its name. This component has a 13-megapixel sensor and offers Intelligent Vision, which, according to Amazon, 'allows Alexa+ to see and understand what is in front of it and assist in real time.' Another notable feature is Live View, which allows monitoring the residence when the user is absent. In terms of audio, the Echo Studio features Immersive Spatial Audio technology.
In Brazil, the Echo Dot and Echo Time are available for pre-order on the Amazon website, although the official launch is scheduled only for November 11, 2026. The Echo Studio with Camera will be available 'soon,' according to the company's announcement.
