Actor Amit Bhatt, who plays Bapuji in the series 'Tarak Mehta', achieved success by changing his image

"Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" is one of the most popular television shows in India. Amit Bhatt, who plays 'Bapuji' Jethalal, is one of the central figures in this series, but few people know that in real life he is younger than Dilap Joshi.

Unusual information has emerged regarding the significant changes the actor made to his appearance to embody this character. Seven facts about Amit Bhatt are presented that may surprise fans of "Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah".

When "Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" started in 2008, Amit Bhatt was only 35 years old. Despite playing the role of an elderly father, he portrayed Bapuji so convincingly that viewers began to perceive him as a strict and respected elder member of the family.

He shared that older people approached him to bow and called him Bapuji. At first, this seemed strange to him, but later he realized it was a sign of the audience's love for his character.

Amit Bhatt plays the role of Champakalal Gada, Jethalal's elderly father, but in reality, he is younger than Dilap Joshi. Amit Bhatt was born on August 19, 1972, while Dilap Joshi was born on May 26, 1968. Thus, Amit Bhatt is approximately four years and three months younger than the actor he plays.

The most surprising fact related to Amit Bhatt's preparation was revealed by him in an interview with The Moi Blog. He stated that initially, he used wigs for the character of Champakalal, but this became uncomfortable during long outdoor shoots. Eventually, he decided to shave his head. According to him, for the first two years, he shaved his head almost every day, and to maintain the bald look, he shaved his head a total of 283 times.

Amit Bhatt's casting story is also quite interesting. Producer Asit Kumar Modi was looking for a suitable actor for the role of Champakalal, and during this period, Dilap Joshi suggested his name. After that, the producer met with Amit and offered him the role, which instantly made him a star.

In an interview, Amit Bhatt shared a striking detail about his acting career: he has never auditioned for any role. He stated that he is grateful to fate for being where he is.

Amit Bhatt's first scene for this sitcom was shot at VT station in Mumbai, which is now known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

Faisal Malik to play Kumbhakarna in 'Ramayana' film, inspired by Hulk's image

In Hollywood science fiction films, audiences have seen very powerful characters, such as in the 'Lord of the Rings' franchise. Over the last two decades, when speaking of a character with immense strength and a gigantic physique, the Hulk is primarily recalled. The image that Mark Ruffalo embodied in the Marvel universe has gained worldwide recognition. Now, inspired by the Hulk, Faisal Malik, known from the series 'Panchayat,' will play Kumbhakarna in Nitish Tiwari's film 'Ramayana.'

Recently, in an interview, Faisal Malik shared his experience portraying the role of Kumbhakarna in 'Ramayana.' The trailer for the film hints at the stature of Kumbhakarna, Ravana's brother. The epic states that Kumbhakarna's length is 600 drotics, which could correspond to between 1800 and 2400 feet.

Speaking about the preparation to bring this giant Asura to the screen, Faisal noted that everyone is familiar with the Hulk and how Mark Ruffalo transforms into this enormous green character. When he began imagining what he would look like in the role of Kumbhakarna, the Hulk appeared in his imagination.

Faisal Malik gained particular fame for his role as Prikhlad Cha in the web series 'Panchayat.' Additionally, he appeared in minor roles in films such as 'Bandy Vasepur.' However, the role of Kumbhakarna in 'Ramayana' is one of the most significant in his career.

He described the experience of working on the film as fulfilling a dream. Faisal stated that the opportunity to play Kumbhakarna in 'Ramayana' was the realization of his dream. Since everyone grew up watching 'Ramayana,' it was great luck for him to get a chance to play one of its characters. Nevertheless, he emphasized that this world is completely different for him because Kumbhakarna is not an ordinary person; he possesses a colossal body and spent six months in a deep sleep. Portraying all these aspects on screen presents a complex task.

Previously, Nalin Dave played Kumbhakarna in the television series 'Ramayana' by Ramandan Saag in 1987, and this role is still considered one of the memorable portrayals of this character.

The first part of the film will be released worldwide on November 5, 2026, and the second part on Diwali 2027. Both parts of the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages in India.
