The Fortaleza Administration has established 55 new positions at the Jose Frota Institute Hospital (IJF), located in the city center. This information was disclosed on Tuesday (the 27th) after Mayor Evandro Leiton (PT) signed the law creating these positions. It is planned to call upon specialists who passed the selection process in 2020.
The proposal was submitted to the Fortaleza Municipal Chamber (CMFor) and approved by deputies during this Tuesday's session. Among the vacancies that need to be filled are: 36 nurses, 2 oral hygiene technicians, 3 orthopedic immobilization technicians, 4 clinical psychologists, 3 organizational psychologists, and 7 speech therapists.
These positions are intended to be filled by specialists approved through the public competition according to announcements No. 22/2020, No. 23/2020, and No. 24/2020. It should be noted that in 2025, the Fortaleza Administration has already created another 76 permanent positions for IJF, including 75 nurses and 1 speech therapist.
According to municipal leadership, the staff expansion aims to create new teams to meet the needs of updated beds, operating rooms, emergency departments, and other units, as well as to strengthen existing multidisciplinary groups working at the hospital.
