The thirteen public cemeteries located in Teresina will remain open for citizens to visit on All Souls' Day, which occurs on November 2nd. The g1 report compiled, in partnership with the Urban Development Superintendencies (SDUs), the operating hours for each unit. Additionally, some of these locations will host mass celebrations during the special programming for this date.
To receive visitors, all cemeteries underwent cleaning and maintenance processes. These conservation activities, such as weeding and debris removal, were carried out by the SDUs.
The superintendent of SDU Sudeste, Aluísio Sampaio, informed that these preparations aim to ensure greater comfort and ease of access for cemetery attendees in the capital. He detailed that all SDUs are undertaking a collective cleaning effort, and specifically in the Southeast Zone, in addition to painting and cleaning, there were improvements in accessibility and chapel renovation to increase visitor well-being.
Hours for visiting on All Souls' Day
South Zone
Santa Cruz Cemetery, located on Rua Araçatuba, Santa Cruz neighborhood, will be open from 6 am to 5 pm. Areias Cemetery, located on Avenida Henry Wall de Carvalho, Triunfo neighborhood, will operate from 6 am to 5 pm.
Southeast Zone
Renascença I Cemetery, on Rua Antônia da Costa dos Santos, will operate from 5 am to 7 pm. São João Batista Cemetery, in Jardim Europa/Usina Santana, will be available 24 hours. São Sebastião Cemetery, on Rua Flôr do Tempo, São Sebastião neighborhood, will open from 6:30 am to 5 pm.
East Zone
São Judas Tadeu Cemetery, on Avenida João XXIII, São João neighborhood, will operate from 5 am to 7 pm. Santa Mônica Cemetery, at Rua Salinas, nº 2525, Cidade Jardim neighborhood, will be open from 6 am to 5 pm. Mirante dos Morros Cemetery, located on Rua Maria Júlia, Morros neighborhood, will operate from 6 am to 5 pm.
North Zone
Poty Cemetery, on Alameda Domingos Jorge Velho, Poti Velho neighborhood, will open from 7 am to 6 pm. Buenos Aires Cemetery, on Avenida Castelo do Piauí, Buenos Aires neighborhood, will also operate from 7 am to 6 pm. Santa Maria da Codipi Cemetery, on Avenida Poti Velho, Santa Maria da Codipi neighborhood, will have hours from 7 am to 6 pm. Santa das Vassouras Cemetery, in the Santa Maria neighborhood, and Camboa Cemetery, on Rua Governador Álvaro Lopes Machado, Cidade Industrial neighborhood, will operate from 7 am to 6 pm.
Mass Times
Mass celebrations will take place at the following locations: at Renascença I Cemetery (Southeast Zone) at 7 am, 9 am, and 5 pm. At São Judas Tadeu Cemetery (East Zone), there will be masses at 7 am, 9 am, 10:30 am, 3 pm, and 5 pm. Finally, at Buenos Aires Cemetery (North Zone), masses are scheduled for 7 am and 5 pm.
