The celebrations for the 204th anniversary of Piauí's adherence to Brazil's Independence began on Tuesday, the 27th, in the cities of Teresina and Parnaíba. The event schedule includes religious ceremonies and the presentation of the State Order of Merit Renascença of Piauí, an honor bestowed upon individuals who have driven the state's progress.
Originally celebrated on October 19th, the Day of Piauí had its schedule postponed this year due to the electoral period. The solemnities were rescheduled for late October to avoid any conflict with the political and administrative calendar.
The official program will conclude on Thursday, the 29th, in Teresina, with the award ceremony held at the auditorium of the Brazilian Bar Association, Piauí Section (OAB-PI).

On Tuesday (27th), at 7 pm, there will be a Thanksgiving Service at the National Baptist Church Berean, located on Avenida Freitas Neto, Praça da Bíblia, in the Mocambinho neighborhood, in Teresina.
On Wednesday (28th), at 7 pm, the ceremony for the presentation of the State Order of Merit Renascença of Piauí will take place at Parque das Ruínas, inside the Sea Museum, located in the Porto das Barcas Cultural Complex, in Parnaíba. This event aims to honor people who have contributed to the state's development.
On Thursday (29th), the program includes a Te Deum Laudamus Thanksgiving Service at 8 am at the Cathedral of Our Lady Mother of Divine Grace, located in Praça da Graça, in Parnaíba. At 5 pm, a Thanksgiving Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows, located in Praça Saraiva, downtown Teresina.
Finally, at 5:45 pm, the presentation ceremony of the State Order of Merit Renascença of Piauí will take place at the auditorium of the Brazilian Bar Association, Piauí Section (OAB-PI), on Rua Governador Tibério Nunes, Cabral neighborhood, in Teresina. This final solemnity will serve to honor personalities and mark the end of the Day of Piauí festivities.
