The city of Macapá will host the main programming of the 8th edition of the Quebramar Festival, which will take place free of charge from Tuesday, the 27th, until Sunday, the 1st. The event will feature various national and international attractions, covering six days of musical performances, theatrical shows, film screenings, and cultural workshops.
Among the national highlights are the Carioca rapper Ebony, recognized as one of the biggest names in current Brazilian trap; the Minas Gerais band Black Pantera, which is a reference in anti-racist metal; and the Paraense artists Gang do Eletro, considered icons of Amazonian electromelody.
Activities will be held at Parque Residência and the São José de Macapá Fortress, including opening events and shows distributed throughout the urban center. The initiative receives support from Petrobras through the Rouanet Law and is organized by the Ministry of Culture (MinC).
The lineup also includes performances by urban jazz pianist Jonathan Ferr and rapper MC Taya. The official opening takes place on Tuesday, the 27th, with a presentation and workshops by the Suraras do Tapajós group, composed of indigenous women, aiming to promote carimbó.
Throughout the week, the musical diversity will be broad, covering genres ranging from rap to rock, passing through jazz, guitarrada, and electronic music. The main stage will also host local bands such as Mocotó Beat, Kobra Sofia, Ind’go, and Ocean Gate, all winners of the Band Battle, as well as foreign artists like Souyengé, from Suriname, and Loriane and KG, from French Guiana.
Beyond music, the festival promotes theater, cinema, business rounds, and debates. The Quebramar EnCena showcase will occupy Parque Residência with plays, while Cine Quebramar will screen animations in collaboration with the Amapá Image and Sound Museum (MIS-AP). There will also be discussions on sustainable development and cultural production, featuring Colombian speaker Lucia González on the 27th.
Heluana Quintas, the festival's production coordinator, emphasizes that the goal is to allow the public to experience Quebramar more broadly, offering a chance to discover new artists, explore different cultures, and establish bonds that strengthen the region's cultural and musical scene.
