The New York stock exchange registered a positive closing today, benefiting both the resurgence of interest in artificial intelligence (AI) related assets and the easing of oil prices following the instabilities observed last week.
Market indicators reflected this movement: the technology index Nasdaq rose by 0.82%, the S&P 500, which covers a larger number of companies, advanced by 0.70%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a selective index, progressed by 0.28%.
Analysts from Briefing.com commented that the return of enthusiasm for AI helped the market recover from last week's volatility. The technology sector had been facing growing concerns related to the profitability of the large investments required for the development of this technology.
Jose Torres, from Interactive Brokers, highlighted that these moments of instability provided investors with an opportunity to resume purchases due to what were considered more attractive price levels.
In this scenario, semiconductor corporations, essential for creating the data centers where AI models are trained, gained value. Among them were Nvidia (+2.39%), Broadcom (+2.33%), and AMD (+2.80%).
Optimism was further reinforced by the announcement, made before the opening of Wall Street, that Anthropic had submitted its dossier for listing on the stock exchange, according to Briefing.com analysts. Although the company mentions the risks inherent in AI, the document also confirmed the startup's accelerated growth: its first-half revenue reached $16.3 billion, surpassing the $4.6 billion recorded in all of 2025.
Anthropic's debut is scheduled for November and could represent one of the biggest entries in stock market history. However, Jose Torres cautioned that investors must now pay attention to several important challenges, such as the quarterly results of three tech giants: Microsoft and Alphabet on Wednesday, and Amazon on Thursday.
This same analyst noted that the recent drop in the Nasdaq significantly lowered projections related to these companies.
Additionally, the fall in oil prices contributed to easing the stock market environment, even though prices remained high.
