Salvador City Hall will advance salary payments to celebrate Employee Day

The Salvador City Hall announced the advancement of salary payments for its employees in celebration of Employee Day. The measure was communicated by Mayor Bruno Reis on Monday, the 26th, through social media.

According to the manager, the salary for October will be advanced and will be available in the servers' accounts this Wednesday, the 28th. Furthermore, a voluntary day off was established for Friday, the 30th, allowing employees to enjoy an extended holiday, since the City Hall will resume activities on the Tuesday following All Souls' Day holiday.

The celebration of Employee Day, which traditionally occurs on October 28th, had its date changed to Friday, the 30th, guaranteeing employees time off on Friday and the subsequent Monday.

The Salvador City Hall has been receiving inquiries from the Electoral Justice regarding the reduction in the public transport fleet that occurred on Sunday, the 25th. Election day for the second round was marked by service access problems, including delays in bus departures and reports of hundreds of vehicles parked in yards.

This situation led to a request for the in flagrante arrest of the municipal Secretary of Mobility, Pablo Souza, by the Regional Electoral Court of Bahia (TRE-BA). However, on the same Monday (26th), the Court revoked this request, understanding that the immediate purpose of the arrest had been lost.

Despite the revocation, the Justice ordered the Regional Electoral Prosecutor's Office and the Federal Police (PF) to investigate a possible reduction of the bus fleet exceeding 50%. The Salvador City Hall, the Municipal Secretariat of Mobility, and the concessionaire companies were notified to preserve and present documentation about the operation of the buses on election day within a period of 48 hours.

On Sunday, Mayor Bruno Reis justified the delay in bus departures due to irregular 'stickering.' Images showed public transport vehicles with stickers related to the campaign of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who was re-elected against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL). Article 37 of the Elections Law (No. 9.504/1997) prohibits electoral propaganda on public assets, such as the buses serving the population.

According to the mayor's statement, the entrepreneurs responsible for transportation decided to remove the stickers, and the city hall authorized the buses to leave even with the stickers present, upon noticing the impact on the service. Bruno criticized the act, classifying it as an 'attempt to take this into the political field.' Before the arrest revocation, Pablo Souza had informed that he would appear before the authorities that Monday, being on a return trip to the Bahian capital after official commitments in Paris, at the invitation of the French government.
