Current and potential Globoplay subscribers should pay attention, as the streaming service's plans have undergone significant modifications regarding both content and features, which has also resulted in price adjustments. There was a price increase in two plans and a reduction in another.
The Ad-Supported plan had its structure altered. Previously, it was contracted annually for 12 installments of R$ 16.90. Currently, this same plan will cost 12 times R$ 19.90 on an annual basis or R$ 29.90 per month on a monthly subscription.
This readjustment represents an increase of almost 18% in the annual contract, but brings content improvements: the offer now includes more than 20 channels, compared to the eight channels of the previous version. Among the added channels are Sportv, Multishow, GNT, Universal, Combate, and Gloob.
In terms of features, the reformulated Ad-Supported plan now allows two simultaneous screens (previously there were three), has full HD resolution, and allows for the creation of up to five user profiles. However, the offline viewing download feature remains unavailable.
The Globoplay Premium plan's value was adjusted from 12 installments of R$ 22.90 to 12 installments of R$ 24.90 for the annual subscription. For those who opt for the monthly payment, the cost is R$ 39.90 per month.
This plan maintains the same channels as the previous option but differs by not displaying ads, allowing up to five simultaneous screens, supporting 4K broadcasts, and enabling 25 monthly content downloads.
Additionally, the combo that unites the Premium plan with Premiere was established as an official plan, with its price reduced from 12 installments of R$ 48.90 to 12 installments of R$ 39.90 on an annual contract. The monthly option for this combo costs R$ 78.90, highlighted by the broadcast of Brazilian Championship games.
Other combinations are available, such as Premium + Telecine, which can be purchased for R$ 34.90 monthly on an annual contract. Free access, which grants the right to watch Globo live and certain channel productions, remains available.
The new values and features of the Globoplay plans were implemented this Monday, October 26th, for all new subscribers. For those who are already customers, the transition to the new terms will occur gradually starting this month, following the respective contractual conditions.
