Sicoob Credisul hosted a delegation of 32 individuals from institutions linked to the national financial system and cooperativism on October 20 and 21 in Vilhena (RO). This meeting represented the final phase of the 'Know to Cooperate – Credit Sector' project, organized by Sescoop Nacional, aiming to strengthen ties between public sector representatives and cooperativism, as well as increase understanding of how credit cooperatives operate in the country.
The group included members from the OCB System, the Central Bank, the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), ministries such as Finance, Agriculture, and Agrarian Development, the Council for Control of Financial Activities (Coaf), as well as various cooperative centers and systems.
During the program, visitors had access to the Sicoob Credisul headquarters, the PA Teens, and social projects supported by the cooperative, including the NGO O Caminho, the Cooperar Hospital, and the FAVOO School and Faculty. The agenda also included a visit to the Rondon House Museum.
Thiago Abrantes, coordinator of the Credit sector in the National OCB System, stated that knowing about these initiatives illustrates how cooperativism aids community progress. He pointed out that the exhibited projects embody the uniqueness of cooperativism in the areas where it operates, emphasizing that Sicoob Credisul is a reference point in Rondônia due to its role in strengthening and expanding this state model.
Adalberto Júnior, who represents the Central Bank in supervising cooperatives, praised the institution's performance both in the financial sphere and in social activities. According to him, the experience is extremely valuable because it demonstrates a well-established structure and a strong social focus, serving as an example for all of Brazil.
Gislaine Campagnin, Risk Director at Sicoob Credisul, explained that the visit allowed participants to see how cooperativism manifests through the projects implemented by the cooperative. She emphasized the group's interest in the Cooperar Hospital, FAVOO, and the O Caminho NGO, stressing the importance of knowing local cooperativism and all of Sicoob Credisul's actions for the community. Campagnin stressed that the cooperative achieves such actions through its business, which is inherent to its cooperative model.
The visit concluded the seven phases established by the 'Know to Cooperate' project, which covered cooperative experiences in the five Brazilian regions and incorporated international references from Germany and France. By receiving the final stage of the program, Sicoob Credisul reaffirmed its position as a national reference in credit cooperativism, proving that financial results and social responsibility can coexist to promote community transformations.
