Micromax Co-founder Marries Actress; She Leaves Showbiz and Limits Daughter's Time

Asin, once one of the most famous actresses in Indian cinema, transitioned from major Tamil and Telugu films after starting her career in the early 2000s to Bollywood. In her debut film, she played the lead role alongside Aamir Khan in 'Ghazni' (2008), which is considered the start of the hundred million club in India.

Despite a relatively short acting career, she achieved significant heights. In 2016, she married Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax, after which she stepped away from the film industry. Recently, in an interview, Rahul openly spoke about his relationship with Asin, calling her the invisible force behind his successes.

In a conversation with MyGov India, he emphasized that marrying Asin was the most important and positive event for him. He described her as the 'rock' behind him, who always supports him, saying, 'Don't worry... just move forward.' Rahul noted that she understands him and his passion, and having such a person by his side makes life much easier.

Rahul believes that a partner should lift you up, not hold you back. He stated that Asin is exactly that kind of person, and his wife's contribution to his life is so immense that it cannot be expressed in words. Asin and Rahul are parents to a daughter, Arin Rain Sharma. Rahul mentioned that Arin is only seven years old now, but she is capable of understanding and speaking about twelve languages, including Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese.

He added that he himself struggles even with two languages, and they mainly communicate in English and Hindi. Rahul mentioned that besides external battles, he also has to fight at home, and Asin handles this domestic struggle. He said he has never met anyone like her.

The Micromax co-founder revealed that they have not shown Arin any screens yet, whether it be a television or a mobile phone. Books dominate their home, and perhaps there are more books than in Arin's school. Although she is in the second grade, there are already textbooks for the eighth and ninth grades at home, and he sometimes jokes about having her take the tenth-grade final exam. He explained that all of this is thanks to Asin. Rahul concluded that his daughter has achieved everything thanks to his wife, and by staying away from show business, Asin is focused on the quality upbringing of her daughter.

Radhika Apte discusses the difficulties of building a career for actresses in Bollywood

Radhika Apte openly spoke about the complex reality of the Bollywood film industry, noting that it remains difficult for female actors to achieve recognition. This raises the question of whether only films aimed at women, featuring major stars like Deepika Padukone or Alia Bhatt, can guarantee a successful box office start?

According to Radhika, establishing a strong identity for an actress in cinemas remains a challenging task. She often has to participate in projects where the lead role is played by a male actor. The main reason for this is the uncertainty regarding the commercial success of films targeting a female audience.

Currently, Radhika Apte is gaining attention for her new series on Netflix titled 'Akka'. During a recent interview, she explained why films geared towards women struggle to succeed at the box office. Radhika believes that it is hard for them to secure a good theatrical release if they lack megastars like Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone, which lowers expectations for their box office revenue.

Speaking about her experience in films such as 'Love Stories 3', 'Sali Mohabbat', and 'Miss Undercover', Radhika emphasized that her project selection is not dependent on whether they are released in theaters or on streaming platforms. For her, the most important thing is that the film reaches the audience in some way. She told a news agency that 'I do not choose a film based on whether it will be released in a cinema or on OTT. It does not matter to me. Many commercial decisions are made regarding the film's release. Therefore, I believe the film should reach the audience by any means. In the current era, it is becoming difficult to predict the success of films released in theaters.'

She continued, adding: 'If I act in a film that is released in a theater, even if it is very good, it does not guarantee its success. That is not up to me. I am not Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone, from whom one can expect at least a good start. I am completely honest with you. This means I will have to work in films where the lead role is played by a male actor.'

It is worth noting that Radhika Apte's next series, 'Akka', is preparing for release and will be available on Netflix on October 30th. In this series, besides Radhika, Kriti Suresh will also play a leading role.
