CBSE integrates artificial intelligence into formal education; NCERT develops curriculum module

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming from an elective subject into a fundamental skill for CBSE students. As part of a move towards more formalized teaching of AI in schools, NCERT has prepared an introductory 20-hour module for students in grades IX–XII, which is intended for school assessment.

This module allows students to encounter various aspects of AI, such as recognizing deepfakes or analyzing confident but incorrect responses from chatbots. Furthermore, separate textbooks on AI are being prepared for those studying the topic at a more advanced level.
