The Islamic Republic of Iran is participating in the 69th Belgrade International Book Fair, which began on October 23rd in the Serbian capital. Thanks to the joint participation of the Iranian Cultural Attaché's office in Serbia and the cooperation of the Iranian House of Books and Literature, the Islamic Republic of Iran presents over one hundred titles at the fair.
The event runs from October 23rd to 31st at the Belgrade Fair. Among the main exhibits in the Iranian pavilion is the book 'Persian Tales,' translated into Serbian, intended to introduce the Serbian audience to Iranian stories and literary heritage. Additionally, a new edition of the magazine Noor was presented for the Serbian public to familiarize themselves with Iranian cultural and literary content.
These programs emphasize the importance of presenting Iranian works through international translation and publication, as well as using book events to expand cultural diplomacy. The exhibition includes planned literary sessions, author talks, presentations, and the unveiling of recently published works, as well as special programs for children's and youth literature.
Other key aspects of the event include showcasing the literature of participating countries and strengthening ties between publishers, translators, and readers. The Belgrade International Book Fair is one of the leading platforms in Southeast Europe for publishing and literary activities, gathering publishers, authors, translators, researchers, and book lovers from various countries.
Thanks to its long history, the fair provides an opportunity to present new works, exchange experiences among publishing industry specialists, and develop international cooperation. Topics such as translation rights, publishing trends, and the role of literature in uniting cultures are also highlighted at the event.
Under the slogan 'Words Build Worlds,' the 69th International Belgrade Book Fair brings together numerous publishers and authors, offering a rich program of events, book presentations, and special discounts. The fair features 300 direct exhibitors from Serbia and 14 other countries, with Tunisia serving as the guest of honor.
Given Iran's previous presence at the Belgrade Fair, this participation offers a chance to present the works of Iranian authors, establish contacts with publishing activists, and strengthen cultural interaction between the two countries.
