At 12:57, residents' mobile phones received a message with an audible alert and a warning from this body. At the time the alert was issued, heavy rain was already falling in areas such as Kaisara, in the northwestern part of the capital of Minas Gerais. The rains also affected other cities in the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Area.
