Exhibition 'Meros' by artist Obidjon Sobirov dedicated to the language of color and symbols opens in Tashkent

The solo exhibition 'Meros' by Obidjon Sobirov took place in Tashkent. The exposition presented 25 works that combine national traditions, cultural memory, symbolic images, and modern color painting.

The exhibition was held in the large exhibition hall of the International Cultural Caravanserai of the Uzbekistan Art Academy. The central theme of the exposition is cultural memory and the artist's unique view of the world. Sobirov refers to national patterns and traditional everyday objects, interpreting them through color, form, and symbols.

In his works, recognizable images acquire new meaning due to the combination of realistic depictions with conventional and fantastic elements. The artist, born in Tashkent and educated at the P. Benkov Art School, also engages in pedagogical activities besides his creative work.

Sobirov has participated in republican exhibitions and competitions since 2004. The 'Meros' exhibition is a logical continuation of his previous solo exhibitions, such as 'Angorli Uy' and 'Quyoshli O'lka'. Special attention in his works is paid to the harmony of decorative quality and symbolic meaning.

National motifs become part of the artistic narrative, and colors reveal the mood and internal dynamics of the composition. Visitors to the exhibition are given the opportunity to discover familiar national symbols from a new perspective. The works encourage not only enjoying the painting but also reflecting on cultural memory, traditions, and their place in contemporary life.

Obidjon Sobirov noted: 'For me, heritage is an inseparable connection to our culture. By addressing traditional images, I seek my own creative language to express my current feelings.'
