Accommodation options to rent on Airbnb in Palermo, Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires presents a vast range of establishments, including restaurants, cafes, galleries, theaters, bookstores, parks, and museums, distributed across various neighborhoods with diverse influences. The eclectic aspect of the Porteno capital is most evident in Palermo, the city's largest district, which is extensive enough to be subdivided into smaller neighborhoods.

In the center of Palermo is Tres de Febrero Park, also known as Bosques de Palermo, where several parks unite to form a large green area comparable to Central Park or Bois de Boulogne. In the sub-neighborhoods, cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, and nightclubs thrive, especially in areas known as Soho and Hollywood, where the recommended accommodations on the Airbnb platform are listed.

In Palermo Soho, one of the most active sub-neighborhoods, there is a two-story house that accommodates up to nine people in four bedrooms. The second floor includes two demi-suite bedrooms (sharing one bathroom), a small living room, and a master suite with a king-size bed, hot tub, and terrace. The ground floor has one more suite and an integrated area with a TV room, kitchen, and dining room, which opens onto a pleasant patio equipped with chairs, hammocks, a barbecue grill, and a small pool.

Just two and a half blocks away is the renowned Don Julio, known for serving authentic parrilla and elected the best restaurant in Latin America. In an approximately 15-minute walk, you can reach the Botanical Garden, part of Bosques de Palermo, Plazoleta Julio Cortázar (Plaza Serrano), a craft fair venue on Sundays, and the Center for the Culture of Science, a free four-story museum with interactive exhibits.

Another option in Palermo Soho describes an apartment with a Parisian touch, located in a building with a marble staircase leading to a room with a fireplace and library, adjacent to the kitchen and dining table. This floor has three bedrooms, and a spiral staircase leads to a dome with another living room and French doors providing access to a terrace with a suite, accommodating up to eight people. Maid service is included, but the location is not suitable for small children or people with reduced mobility due to the stairs. The apartment is a five-minute walk from Scalabrini Ortiz station (Metro Line D) and less than 15 minutes from the Evita Museum, a 1906 mansion that narrates the history of Eva Perón.

For larger groups, a house in Palermo Soho can accommodate up to ten people in four bedrooms, offering three full bathrooms and a half-bath. The ground floor houses the kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room, and patio with barbecue. The bedrooms are on the second floor, and a third floor contains a game room, laundry room, and two balconies with tables and sun loungers. Cleaning service is included, and the property is just over 10 minutes from Plaza Serrano and 15 minutes from Dorrego station (Metro Line B).

An apartment ideal for couples, located on the three upper floors of Palermo Tower in Palermo Soho, features a small kitchen, washing machine, and workspace on the first floor, in addition to a TV room with panoramic views. The next floor is dedicated to a suite with a balcony, and the top floor has a terrace equipped with a hot tub, barbecue, and outdoor dining table. From there, it is possible to reach the Center for the Culture of Science or Don Julio in a few minutes, or El Rosedal, in about 20 minutes.

Another accommodation in Palermo Soho offers a room with a double bed, bathroom, and half-bath, distinguished by its terrace with a barbecue and pool, being modern and functional. It is located 15 minutes from Malabia station (Metro Line B) and 8 minutes from Plaza Serrano.

A two-person loft features integrated rooms, including a kitchen with dishwasher and coffee maker, a living room with a workspace, and a pinball machine. A highlight is the hot tub, above which there is a mezzanine with a suspended bed made of steel cables. The building's common areas include a pool, gym, and restaurant. This unit is in the sub-neighborhood of Palermo Hollywood, separated from Palermo Soho by a train line, and is just two and a half blocks from the Uptown speakeasy bar, as well as five minutes from the Flea Market. Carranza station (Metro Line D) is about an 11-minute walk away.

Finally, a small studio in Palermo Hollywood, near the border with Palermo Soho, allows access to both areas on foot, being about 10 minutes from the Flea Market and Plaza Serrano. The accommodation, in the Palácio Cabrera building (from 1935), has a single room with a double bed, TV, dining table, compact kitchen (with mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker), and bathroom. Guests can use the pool, terrace, and laundry facilities in the common areas.

Iconic building in Madrid opens Metrópolis Hotel & Club with 19 suites

There are buildings that are part of the city, and others that become its own image. For over a century, the dome of the Metrópolis building occupied such a place in Madrid: it appears on postcards, in films, photographs, and travel souvenirs, marking the intersection of Alcalá Street and Gran Vía, one of the busiest avenues in the capital of Spain.

Now this building is gaining a new function with the opening of Metrópolis Hotel & Club. It transforms one of Madrid's architectural symbols into a space combining a hotel with 19 suites, a private club, gastronomy, wellness services, and a program related to the city's culture and social life.

History of the Metrópolis Building

The Metrópolis building was constructed between 1907 and 1911 for La Unión y Fénix Español, which was an old Spanish insurance company. The design was entrusted to French architects Jules and Raymond Février. This space appeared almost simultaneously with Gran Vía.

Its Neo-Renaissance architecture, rotunda with Corinthian columns, allegorical sculptures dedicated to trade, industry, agriculture, and mining, and above all, the slate dome with gold details, made it one of Madrid's most recognizable buildings.

Thanks to the renovation carried out by Grupo Paraguas, the building is now opening its doors to guests who can tour its interior and admire Madrid from the windows.

Metrópolis Hotel & Club features 19 suites, designed to ensure tranquility in a building located in one of the city's busiest spots. Gran Vía and Alcalá Street are outside. Within a few steps are Círculo de Bellas Artes, Triángulo das Artes, comprising the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Reina Sofía museums, as well as galleries, restaurants, and other cultural spaces in Madrid.

Inside, the interior design project explores the relationship between the building's historical architecture and modern design. Noble materials, cozy textures, and works of art coexist with the structure of the early last century, while large windows provide panoramic views of the city.

Among the most exclusive rooms are the Circular Suites of about 80 m², whose geometry corresponds to the shape of the building's rotunda. The Cibeles Circular Suite, located on the fourth floor, and the Victoria Circular Suite, on the third, offer 360° panoramic views of Madrid. The largest room is about 117 m² and combines one of these circular suites with the Upper Suite, forming the Grand Suite 360º. Other configurations offer views of Alcalá Street or Gran Vía and share common features such as natural lighting and selected materials.

The hotel is part of a larger ecosystem. Club Metrópolis revives the tradition of social clubs, offering a modern concept that combines gastronomy, music, art, and social gatherings in spaces also available to club members. This means that part of the city's cultural life can be found right in the hotel. The program includes musical and artistic events, gastronomic and seasonal activities, private meetings, and personalized tours.

Personalization extends to the services provided. Suites may include a butler, airport or train station transfer, sommelier services, and private dining. The concierge can arrange everything: from cultural itineraries and priority access to city restaurants to personal shopper services.

The hotel boasts seven gastronomic areas distributed across different floors of the building. Among the restaurants is Tasca Fina, a modern interpretation of a Spanish tavern focused on the culture of shared consumption and quality ingredients. And Spa de Langostas offers an immersive dining experience where lobster is the main character of a menu inspired by the sea.

The variety of restaurants and bars allows Metrópolis to have various functions throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, or late-night meetings are all part of the concept.

Metrópolis also has wellness areas, including a cosmetic treatment area and a fitness space equipped with Technogym equipment. Guests can also request personal training sessions, yoga, Pilates, and functional training.

In addition to its proximity to the main tourist attractions of the Spanish capital, the building is approximately 20–25 minutes away from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

Historic houses in Olinda available for rent through Airbnb

Olinda offers much more than just a quick visit from Recife. Its hills maintain a festive atmosphere throughout the year and house a rich collection of Baroque churches, colonial residences, and art studios. Due to its compact size and ease of walking around, the historic center is considered the ideal place to stay. For this reason, several houses in the region have been selected for rental via Airbnb.

One notable property stands out for its decoration, which mixes ceramic sculptures with photographs of the Carioca resident Pedro Jardim de Mattos in a large living room. This space was designed by the Pernambucan architect Sandra Brandão, uniting contemporary and historical elements. The suite, equipped with a queen bed, air conditioning, mini-fridge, and TV, has access to a generous backyard with hammocks, where one can hear the birds singing. Although the kitchen is not available to guests, the package includes a hearty and praised breakfast daily.

In another house, brick walls and colorful tiles give charm to this cozy retreat, situated amidst nature. The terrace features a hot tub and a hammock, offering views of the sea and the Church of Carmo. The accommodation has two bedrooms—one with a queen bed and another with two single beds—in addition to a living room with a hammock and rocking chair. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave.

Another bungalow is located in a private Atlantic Forest reserve, within the historic site of Olinda, only a two-minute walk from Alto da Sé, an area known for its restaurants and handicraft shops. The two bedrooms are air-conditioned, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. The living room includes a sofa bed, recliner, and television, while the kitchen is supplied with a stove, microwave, and coffee maker. A highlight of this property is the terrace, which features hammocks, a sun lounger, and a table, providing a view of the Olinda lighthouse.

In a third option, the house is described as unique, located in the heart of the historic center but completely immersed in lush forest. Guests report hearing the sounds of nature and watching monkeys in the trees in the morning. The host Luis is mentioned as very welcoming and accessible. The lodging is described as spacious and well-equipped.

An accommodation with simple decor, artwork, and colorful tiles in the kitchen offers two air-conditioned rooms: one with a queen bed and another with two single beds. The living room is spacious, and the kitchen is equipped with a stove, coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. The highlight of this place is the terrace, which contains a hammock, sun lounger, chairs, plants, and a barbecue grill.

Further on, a house with a green painted facade is presented as more spacious than the previous ones, featuring two air-conditioned suites. One has a queen bed, and the second offers two single beds plus space to accommodate two additional mattresses on the floor. The living room, characterized by a brick wall and a television connected to Netflix, integrates with the dining room, which seats six people, and the kitchen, equipped with a refrigerator, cooktop, oven, and counter space for three more seats.

Historic houses available for rent on Airbnb in the center of Diamantina

The historic center of Diamantina, located in Minas Gerais, houses not only the city's main mansions and churches but also various restaurants and cafes. Due to this concentration of points of interest, the area is considered ideal for accommodation, being a short distance from everything that attracts visitors. Although it is possible to explore the surroundings without relying on vehicles, physical fitness is necessary to deal with the stone slopes.

The accommodation options gathered here present modest structure, but they stand out for their excellent location close to the central attractions. One house, located on Rua do Beco das Beatas, can be reached by going up the street and around the block, arriving at Praça Barão Guaicuí and the Old Market, where regional fairs take place on Saturdays and Sundays. This residence, dating from 1930, has been renovated to accommodate groups of up to ten people. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, an equipped kitchen, and a living room with traditional decoration in white and blue tones. For families with children, there is an outdoor area with a playground, including a swing and slide.

Another accommodation exhibits the charm of the colonial past through its chandeliers, balconies, and elaborate details in wooden furniture. This mansion has seven bedrooms, all offering views of the city's Historic Center. The kitchen is equipped with a wood-burning stove, refrigerator, and microwave, and the house is near Rua da Quitanda, known for concentrating bars and restaurants and hosting the Vesperata between April and October.

Near the city's richest church, the house is located on the historic Rua do Contrato, a name that refers to the diamond contractor João Fernandes de Oliveira, partner of Chica da Silva. The interior details of this property are decorated in green, red, and yellow. Six guests can stay in the two bedrooms or the sofa bed in the living room, sharing a single bathroom. The accommodation includes an equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and basic utensils, as well as a small service area overlooking the Rosário Church and Pico do Itambé. During Holy Week, processions pass in front of the house.

A more compact option offers a room with television and queen bed, one bathroom, and a small hall with armchairs, mini-bar, and coffee maker. Its great differential is the proximity to the townhouse where Chica da Silva lived with the contractor João Fernandes between 1763 and 1771. This attraction has free entry and displays a collection of 18th-century furniture and items.

There is also a house located 10 km from the center of Diamantina, aimed at those seeking tranquility in the Cerrado, in the Serra do Espinhaço. This property has a river running through the entire terrain and offers trails leading to canyons, pools, and small waterfalls. Spread over two floors, it accommodates up to 14 people in four bedrooms, with green and blue decoration, pendant lights, and potted plants. The American kitchen opens onto a balcony equipped with hammocks, sofas, and a fireplace.
