DeepSeek has released an API for searching and extracting data, granting access to its proprietary search engine for developers building applications and artificial intelligence agents that require external information.
The search service provides structured results from the internet, while the Fetch function allows for the extraction of a webpage's title and content in Markdown format.
Both services cost 5 RMB per 1000 successful requests. No charge is incurred for failed requests, empty search results, or timeouts.
Developers can utilize these new services using their existing DeepSeek API credentials. DeepSeek announced that search and extraction calls performed server-side through tools such as DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code, and Codex are currently untarified. Charging for these calls will begin at midnight Beijing time on November 1st.
