Pakistani director Khalil-ur-Rahman refused actresses revealing outfits on set

Popular Pakistani film director and screenwriter Khalil-ur-Rahman Kamar expressed dissatisfaction with the bold outfits of actresses. He stated that on his sets, actresses are not allowed to wear short or revealing clothing. His comments concerned Pakistani actress Saba Kamar.

Previously, in one of his statements, Khalil-ur-Rahman had said that he would not work with Saba Kamar because she preferred bold and revealing clothing, which he disliked. However, he has now changed his stance.

He noted that Saba is free to choose her clothes as she wishes, but if she is filming in a series with him, such outfits will not be permitted on the set. Furthermore, he asserted that wearing minimal clothing was characteristic of the Stone Age, and that choosing short clothing signifies moving backward, not forward.

In a new podcast, Khalil-ur-Rahman commented on Saba Kamar's outfits, saying: 'It is your wish. But if you are on my set, you cannot wear it. On my set, girls cannot even wear deep necklines. But it is her will. I do not stop anyone. You can take off all your clothes. It is your wish. May Allah know your intention.'

When the host asked him whether modest clothing was necessary for participating in his script, he replied that they have the right to cover their bodies. He added that people once walked naked, so wearing short clothing is not progressive, but rather a step backward. He also mentioned that men love all these things.

Khalil-ur-Rahman's statements received significant criticism from the Pakistani public, who question his narrow-mindedness.
