Prabhas, who became a star across India thanks to the film 'Baahubali', is highly anticipated by fans. Over the past nine years, he has starred in many major projects, but only one, 'Salaar', received high audience praise, while the other films did not generate such excitement.
Prabhas also has large projects planned. For his birthday, the teaser for the film 'Fauji' was presented, offering the first glimpse into the actor's character and what can be expected from the plot. A subsequent analysis of this teaser is provided.
The 'Fauji' teaser opens with a meeting between Adolf Hitler and Subhash Chandra Bose, which took place on May 29, 1942, in Germany during World War II. At this meeting, Subhash Chandra Bose asks Hitler for help in freeing India from British rule. However, Hitler refuses, stating that India's fight against the British is a 'lost battle.'
Nevertheless, Subhash Chandra Bose insists on his determination to achieve Indian independence. Subsequently, military actions in Japan and Great Britain are mentioned, where Japan captured Singapore. An Indian soldier and spy are behind this success. Subhash Chandra Bose emphasizes that Britain has information on all spies except for one 'Fauji' spy, who is special to him. This spy created codes based on the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita that are impossible for the British to decipher.
Hitler shows interest in this soldier, but Subhash Chandra Bose informs him that he is currently defending his homeland. Following this, the image of the 'Fauji' is shown, charging a heavy machine gun to strike the British. He utters the phrase: 'Hey Portuguese, I will take your blood and your freedom.'
Regarding the 'Fauji' teaser itself, it was created by director Hanu Raghavapudi, who previously worked on the film 'Sita Ramam' in 2022 with Dulquer Salmaan, Mrinal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna. The scenes in that movie were also very beautiful, and in 'Fauji', the director aimed to achieve similar visual quality. Details of the 1940s era are clearly visible in the teaser. The way Prabhas uses the machine gun matches the technology of that time.
Furthermore, the vehicles presented help set the tone for the entire film. The ambiance of the meeting between Hitler and Subhash Chandra Bose also deserves praise. It can be said that the film will transport the viewer to the period of India's struggle for independence from the British, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in this atmosphere.
However, the most disappointing aspect was the feeling of a typical South Indian masala film. In the 'Fauji' teaser, the character of Subhash Chandra Bose portrays Prabhas as a hero typical of most South Indian films: invincible, hard to find, and unparalleled. This, according to the author, is not the best approach. It is also noted that the Russian dubbing in the teaser does not generate much excitement before watching the film.
Moreover, Prabhas's appearance seems quite artificial. The cigarette in his mouth looks like a copy from the film 'KGF'. Fans are currently giving mixed reviews, and hope remains that Prabhas will surprise the public when the film is released.
