Unit's Entrance Exam for 2027 to be held in October; registrations open

For those intending to start higher education in 2027, the time to take the first step is approaching. In Sergipe, the entrance exam for the Tiradentes University (Unit) for admission in the first semester is scheduled for October 18, 2026. This selection represents the beginning of a new academic journey for students aiming for professional training, new opportunities, and preparation for an increasingly dynamic job market.

In addition to choosing a field of study, the student must find a formative experience that aligns with their goals and their real situation. With this in mind, Unit has reformed its portfolio and adjusted its teaching methodologies and formats to accommodate diverse student profiles, always maintaining a focus on excellence and academic quality.

The university structures undergraduate programs according to the specifics of each course and in compliance with the current guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MEC). The proposal integrates multiple forms of learning, supported by three crucial pillars for professional development: technology, practice, and flexibility.

A highlight among the innovations is the blended learning format, ideal for those who need to balance higher education studies with other obligations, especially work. This modality offers a more adaptable alternative for managing the academic routine of those who are already employed and do not wish to leave their jobs to study.

Unit's new teaching model also intensifies the use of approaches that connect the student to professional reality. Among these methodologies is Project-Based Learning (PBL), which encourages the application of knowledge in solving practical scenarios and developing projects.

The objective is to ensure that the student not only absorbs content but also knows how to apply it. This link between theory and practice helps develop essential skills for professional life, such as problem-solving, teamwork, decision-making, and innovation.

The undergraduate program offered in the blended format maintains the same quality standard as the in-person format, featuring the same laboratories and professors. The model stipulates that the student studies three days in person and two days online.

Registrations are now open. Evaluation criteria include the score obtained in Enem or a simplified process involving essay analysis.

In Sergipe, the new blended format is available in several courses and campuses of Unit. At the Farolândia Campus, Gastronomy, Pedagogy, and Occupational Therapy are available. At the Estância Campus, the courses offered are Physical Education, Pedagogy, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy.

Additionally, the Itabaiana Campus offers Physical Education, Pedagogy, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy, while the Propriá Campus offers Physical Education, Pedagogy, and Occupational Therapy. This variety of courses and locations expands options for those seeking to start higher education with a format compatible with their routine.

Macapá and Santana State Schools to Receive 7.6 Million Reais from Family Farming for School Meals

Public schools in Macapá and Santana will receive 7.6 million reais allocated for purchasing products from family farms for school meal needs. This initiative aligns with the directives of the National School Feeding Program (Pnae), which uses federal funds to acquire products from local producers.

What is on the students' plates

Currently, 18 types of products are being purchased from family farms through public tenders. The menu includes fruits, vegetables, legumes, manioc flour, fruit purees, and açai. This diverse diet positively influences the educational process, as noted by second-grader Dominic Rodrigues: 'The food at school is very good and very varied. We have fruits, vegetables, and different dishes throughout the week. It is very good to have the opportunity to study and eat here, prepared for us.'

State Resources Supplement Federal Funds

In addition to federal funding from Pnae, the state directs funds through the School Feeding Program (Proem) directly to educational institutions. These funds are used to purchase other essential consumer goods that are not supplied by family farms, such as meat and grains. While the company Seed coordinates public tenders for local producers, each school independently purchases the remaining products from the state budget.

Serving Indigenous and Quilombola Students

A public application worth 718.9 thousand reais was launched in July 2026 to procure 33 items from family farms intended for traditional communities. This measure covers approximately 7.4 thousand students from 77 schools in indigenous and quilombola communities. The specialized menu includes local products such as fish, açai, bacaba, flour, fruits, and vegetables.

Suppliers

For 2026, supplies will be provided under 16 contracts distributed among two cooperatives, four associations, and ten individual farmers. It is estimated that this will serve 468 direct rural producers and about 2 thousand suppliers and their families in the region. Registered organizations include: Attafex-San (Association of Agricultural and Resource Extraction Workers in Santana), Paif (Association of Agro-extractive Producers of Franco Island), Amacrep (Association of Residents and Farmers of the Ressaca-da-Pedreira Community), and Acipol (Association of Farmers and Aquaculture in the Fazendinha Agro-fruit and Grain Center in Macapá).

IFSertãoPE's Polyglot Club in Petrolina Zona Rural Opens Applications for 106 Spots

The Petrolina Zona Rural campus of the Federal Institute of Sertão Pernambucano (IFSertãoPE) has started the registration period for new members of its Polyglot Club. This extension program offers free activities for participants to practice conversation in English, Spanish, and French, in addition to providing a dedicated group for studying the French language.

In total, 106 spots are available, divided into four distinct categories: 30 spots for English conversation, 30 for Spanish conversation, 30 for French conversation, and 16 spots designated for the French study group.

The distribution of spots stipulates that half will be allocated to the internal community of IFSertãoPE itself, covering staff, students, and outsourced collaborators from all campuses of the institution. The other half is reserved for the external public.

The final deadline for registration is October 29, and the process must be completed exclusively through electronic forms. Interested parties need to select the appropriate link according to their participation category—internal or external—and the modality of interest.

How the activities will be conducted

The meetings, both for conversation and the French study group, will take place weekly and will be conducted virtually using the Google Meet platform, with a scheduled start date of November 17. During the conversation sessions, participants will address various topics, such as movies, music, weather conditions, travel, literature, technology, and routine, utilizing didactic materials to foster interaction.

Regarding the French study group, learning will be supported through texts, videos, and audio, aiming to assist in mastering grammar, improving pronunciation, and expanding students' vocabulary repertoire.
